The Obama hate bandwagon

Around my school, I'm surrounded by kids who think it's the cool thing to do to constantly ridicule Obama for apparently "not doing enough" and/or "not doing anything". I never really paid much attention to it until now (I assume the hate starting building up due to the election). It seems as if it is now the bandwagon thing to do to hate Obama and his presidency.

Because now everyone is an expert on politics and what needs to happen in order to run this country. Anyone else experience this?

Obama is now aerials.

and I can put money on the fact that some people voted against him simply because he WAS black (or in some cases because of a belief that he is a muslim, lol)

-won't repeal DOMA although he'll talk about supporting gay marriage...talk is cheap, buddy.
-affordable healthcare act will most likely be found unconstitutional
-could have done better with the unemployment rate, although this isn't completely his fault

this. For a candidate who supports not a party or system of government, but instead supports people of the nation itself, with the desire and goal to provide everyone with an equal ability to access healthcare, education, and basic aides.

I seriously, SERIOUSLY don't get how some people can be so ignorant as to deny, revoke, and refuse to provide help to those that need it.

haha just my .02, but in my dream world, there would be someone who ran to actually help others, and considers the population as a whole when making decisions that would benefit everyone directly. Healthcare, education, transportation, etc all provided to the citizens.

Our economy is getting worse. If you call these slight periods where things seem to get better, improvement, you're crazy. We put ourselves into these shitstorms, then we not only continue, but increase the shitty things we did to get there, to get us out. Nothing but temporary fixes. Print off more money here, do this. It's not sustainable.


Meanwhile inflation is climbing ridiculously fast and we haven't really seen the effects of the recent spending yet. our economy isn't getting better. Fuck, the people that are saying this are the same people saying that we weren't in a recession, that our economy was doing good. When the stocks were dropping, that they were gonna go right back up, one guy even saying that he would invest his money in Bear Stearns I believe. I remember arguing with people back then trying to drop some reason. Then all the sudeen, no shit, we're in a fucking recession and it's impossible not to admit it.


Finally I just gave up for the most part on trying to argue with people. The average person it's just not even worth it. There whole perspective of the world is built from sometime watching tv and what they've overheard from their friends or at the store/bar/ wherever.


Stupid people voting is killing our country. It's not even fucking funny. It's the responsibility of the people to maintain the once great America. I've actually had people try to pull out the phony fucking patriot card like, you're not American saying that America is going down the shitter. It's like, "You're not much of an American to keep sending it there"

People are fucking stupid. At a time when all the information you could possibly need is right at your finger tips, it amazes me how straight up retarded people can be.


I don't see much change happening in 2012. I feel like we're going to ride this trend down for a while. Hopefully at some point when it gets worse, it's enough to get people to wake up and fucking do something.


I mean fuck. You have people following fox or cnn, getting into huge fights at the dinner table over things as dumb as bush vs. obama. Then they go out and vote for the same shit. It's amazing.

I have a few things to say.

1) Fuck Romney. I might listen to what he had to say about economics if he didn't bully a gay kid in highschool and come off as a dickhead. The only reason I will support Obama is because he isn't Romney.. this leads me to my next point;

2) The two-party system is fucked. Because of it, many people don't vote for a specific person, they vote for or against a specific party.
This also means that if someone supported gay marriage and environmental protection but was a fiscal conservative, they'd have to choose which values were more important to them and be forced to choose between Democrat/Republican.

3) NO FUCKING WAY is Ron Paul going to win. Get over it... he might be have been a good president, I don't know. He's just not going to win.

4) Fuck politics.

Presidents aim there campaign towards what will make them win and if young people and the poor vote they would try to please them more.(not positive if that made sense) and I think the number was somewhere around 40% of registered voters between 18-24 voted, that's pretty damn low.

Obama made all kinds of fucking promises. And even if they come through with the promises it's not necessarily good.


And young people shouldn't vote. That's just dumb. Most young people haven't really formed a real opinion of things yet. I bet every kid will argue that they have, but I call obvious nans. Most kids go with either what their parents say or the cool thing at the time like the obama campaign.

I vote but I refuese to cast my vote for shitty people. If there's someone decent on the ballot I'll vote if not I don't. Would rather not vote than play "the lesser of two evils"

People who think you can win playing that game are fucking stupid. Obama and Mccain both suck, but im gonna vote for one of them because I think they're a little bit better than the other. Honestly in that election there should have been the lowest number of votes for the main candidates.

I just don't see how trying to please the young and the poor means anything> I mean shit, that's not even the fucking problem. Fuck trying to lie and please people, do something REAL for the better of America. Doesn't seem like that'll happen ever.

You shouldn't base your vote on something as inconsequential (in the long run) as abortion. If you're going to vote/not vote for someone, actually research the economic standpoint of said person and not silly social issues.

I agree completely, you should vote for the person you like overall and not on a certain issue. Being that I go to Catholic school (I'm not religious) I have seen that a lot of teachers, parents, and kids are very influenced by abortion. Just trying to show how for some it is a basis that our country votes upon. It should not be categorized along with topics in this thread.

Yeah, because the main rep and dem candidates do such a great job.

Nobody cares if we stay on the same pace. Why change things when we can stay the same as it ever was(at least for the last 40 years)


I should just start voting for candidates that look like a strong presence, make good eye contact, or seem like a nice guy

I agree with you, but I wasn't the one saying he's not going to win; polls say he's not going to win. I'd rather support him than Romney, but I'd rather put my vote towards someone who has a chance.

Maybe my logic is flawed, but after what happened in Maine I'd (personally) be careful with voting for an underdog. 38% of Maine's population voted for LePage, and the other 62% split their vote between two VERY similar candidates, one of which was not a serious candidate (she received 19% of the vote, while the other received 36%). If the vote hadn't been split between these two candidates LePage would not have been elected. This is another problem with the two-party system.

yeah because the percent of people that vote in primaries compared to the number of idiots that vote in the presidential election is totally different.

the only reason he won was because he was black, there was more youth, and minority votes then ever before. he used hype to his advantage, he is a marketing genius(or who ever ran his campaign is). But bottom line is that if he was white he would not be the president.


people wanted "change" what ever the fuck that means. the whole change thing worked great for him since he was black which no other president was as you stated about 5 times already.




If Bush was left in office(which cant happen) I'm sure the economy would start to recover eventually since it is just something that takes time. Obama will be out if gas prices continue to rise, that is what most of america sees.

I love Australia's voting system.

...it would give 3rd parties a much bigger say in things, and people MIGHT vote for them sometimes.

That said, one of the two main parties still usually comes out victor when it comes to top level elections.

True, but at least people could vote their conscience without worrying about being a spoiler. This would remove at least one barrier to entry for third parties. Of course there are other's but it's a step in the right direction IMO.
