The Obama hate bandwagon

Around my school, I'm surrounded by kids who think it's the cool thing to do to constantly ridicule Obama for apparently "not doing enough" and/or "not doing anything". I never really paid much attention to it until now (I assume the hate starting building up due to the election). It seems as if it is now the bandwagon thing to do to hate Obama and his presidency.

Because now everyone is an expert on politics and what needs to happen in order to run this country. Anyone else experience this?

Both sides suck, they both keep putting shit people into office from the ground up, and fuck 12 year olds kids that try have facebook statuses about whatever president yet still believe everything their parents tell them and can't vote for 20 years.

Well, I think most of the parents of kids who go to my school are strongly republican. I was told numerous times that Bush was the one to vote for back when he was running. Fucking idiots.

I've noticed this in my school as well. It seems like towards the end of every presidential term, no matter who is president, that they just start to be the target of hate. Happened with Clinton, Bush, and now Obama

Yeah I have really noticed this. People who have NO IDEA about politics say they hate Obama, when it is obvious they received all of their political info from watching 15 minutes of fox. When I ask them what Romney would do better they just stutter.

The answer to the last question is no, I am not old enough to vote. Maybe I am uninformed, but that is the reason their is a age requirement for voting. The first part of what you said is also true, he got voted into office by the younger voters. I am merely saying that some people I talk to seem to be very uninformed or misinformed ( Copied all political opinions off of parents). But the bottom line is my opinion doesn't matter, because I am not allowed to vote.
Like people have mentioned above, the grass is always greener on the other side. Do you remember how low Bush's approval rating was when he left office? The same thing is happening to Obama now. My main point here was to say that uninformed voting is a very large problem.

i mean Obama really hasnt helped the economy...i think Mitt would probably do better in that sense from running his companies, but then people hate him for the amount of money he has, i feel like either way people are going to complain about politics..no president can make everyone happy.

Even Romney admits that the economy is recovering, and the numbers show that we are in recovery (although it's much weaker than it could be if the stimulus had been bigger).

I am not an expert but IMO Obama did come into office in a shitty situation where the economy was failing. Also as things changed while he was in office and the Congress was at a standstill, he could not accomplish all the things he promised. However, I do believe that he is in a better position to be president for another 4 years, because he has just started to make things better, and I support the Democratic party more so than Republican party. I also think that many of the haters are in a Bandwagon and others seek out someone to blame for their troubles in life.
NS is not exactly a great place to bring up Politics, but this is my opinion. (There are some other great points in the thread as well!)

That is what I hate about the 08 election so many people voted for him just because he was black. No they regret it. People think the president can change everything also. It isn't that easy.

Our economy is shit and getting worse. Not all obamas fault, or bush's fault, or clinton's fault. This is shit that goes back to 1913.


Saying our economy is getting better is a fucking joke. The only things we've done is make it worse. Our economy looks like the hockey stick graph from an inconvenient truth but flipped upside down.


Lol at the thought that he's done shit to improve our economy. Just another president to go even harder than the last at fucking our economy quite hard. It's almost to the point where we can't even recover even if we changed shit now. And all the while shit keeps getting worse.

But to here shit in the news about how things are getting better? Fuck it actually makes me mad. One of the few things that's able to make me mad is people absorbing all this fucking bullshit.

Sure people voted for him because he was "hip". Uninformed voting is a huge problem in our country. The country has gotten to big for the electoral college to prevent it at this point. Why do you think candidates even run attack ads. Any politically educated person would see right through it, but so many people in our country are dumb as hell. They think that Obama ruined an already failing economy because they are pissed people are losing their jobs and gas costs so much and they dont know why, they want someone to blame. I dont watch FNC either, CNN. Also im 15 and know alot more than many of the people voting.

I'm not gonna advocate laws that have restricted certain groups from voting because of race, but I will say that if idiots couldn't vote the world would be a better place.

Maybe a basic multiple choice test should be administered to determine if one gains the right to suffrage, testing things like basic knowledge of current events, history, American and world government, and economics. Jusss sayin...

I have not t been the biggest supporter of Obama as of late, and Im a democrat. But I think he going to get re elected. I just don't think Romney is a strong enough opponent. if the republican party had someone good enough to offer I would vote for them, I really don't care too much if the guy democratic or not. But Romney just seems like too much of an ass to be our president. Obama might not be helping, but Romney wouldn't do any better. Lets just hope 5 years later we get a president like FDR to pull out of this shit hole.

What you want is enforced compulsory voting. While it does make sure everyone's voice is heard, it does not guarantee that their vote will be at all informed. You could end up with the uninformed voting we have now, in addition to everyone that does not vote. Some would, of course, become informed if you forced them, but odds are if you wouldnt have voted anyway you would be an uninformed voter.
