So Basis of my story is i'm living in santa barbara Isla Vista to be more specific and we were looking for places for the next school year got a place lined up and everything and the place is 4 bedrooms but we only had 3 people sign the lease and i paid the deposit for my friend who lives back in minnesota cause he was moving out there but i had to move back for summer to work and it ended up that they couldnt fill the rest of the rooms so they were going to fuck the place But i paid 1200 deposit for a place that cost 5400 a month to live at and i have no way of finding people because i'm back for the summer
So i was wondering if i have any grounds to get that money back?
should i call the landlord and ask for it back?
should i ask to rent one room?
would i need to sign a new lease for this?
What woud you do cause 1200 bucks is a lot of money to be out
