Critique some of my pictures please

Nice, I really liked the falling snow pic. The night picture was cool too the clouds just seem blurry but I really liked how well the trees were silhouetted. Haha Corona one was funny. My only critique is that I think you are on the line between shooting abstract/creative shots and more "real life" shots. Just my vibe but I liked them.

Thanks man, i really appreciate the feedback. The clouds were blurry because i had the shutter open to take in the sky and the clouds moved around

You definitely have good ideas for subjects, but often times they are awkwardly placed in the photo. For example, the cafe and dog pics are awesome subjects, but they aren't cropped well. Check out this article on the rule of thirds, I know its cliched to suggest and can be abused, but it could help especially with your flower photos. http://www.cambridgeincolour.com/tutorials/rule-of-thirds.htm

Thanks for the tip, i've known about rule of thirds for a while but in some of my earlier flower pictures and the dog picture i didn't know about it. Thanks for the tip i'll keep it in mind while i am shooting

sorry but this wont be very constructive. your brothers portrait.... the one comment on that page summs it up. why keep tones in the door and knock out the rest of the images colors? And please dont say because it looks cool.

heres where it becomes constructive.

everything you do in a picture reflects what you want to convey. So taking out the color from him sort of makes it feel like he has no soul. you need to make concious decesions with photo, especialy when chosing to do something that outragous. It could work for certain things. for instance a man walking into a jail cell, he is black and white and the door to the cell is fully colored. Showing how he has a dark soul and the cell will take up his life. It would look as cheasy as double chease kraft dinner but it would have a meaning.

this thread is funny. you ask for feedback but ignore everything negative but constructive and just go for the good feedback.

just dont make a thread and go masturbate instead, that way you can get the love your looking for.

How the fuck am I ignoring negative feedback? I'm taking it all into consideration when I'm shooting pictures now, so don't tell me I am ignoring it just because I'm not commenting on it

When you're about to take a photo, ask yourself WHY you are about to take the photo. Why does this photo need to be taken? What purpose does it hold? Once you've decided if the picture is necessary, spend time looking through the viewfinder to make sure it is actually constructed the way you want it to be. Don't just madly click the shutter then choose the one you like most later on the monitor.

When I look at your photo's, I hate to say it but they are extremely insignificant - I don't get why they are taken, and I fail to find any aesthetic qualities in them.

My advice is to think about why you are taking your pictures and then progress your images from there.

Keep shooting though, just put all your thought into the photo - not just the shutter.
