anybody know if there is still enough snow to set up a jump or a rail at guardsmans or at brighton right now? and are brighton's rails still out and are you allowed to go up there and hike them? haven't been up there for a while.
Skiing up on Guardsman's is mostly done. I pushed the DH bike up last weekend and hit Evil Empire- a few patches of snow on N facing aspects in the trees but not enough to make it worth the effort to bring your skis. Looks like there might still be a couple skiable lines off 10,420 but they'll probably be done here in the next week or so too.
Biked up big cottonwood and guardsman to puke hill then road accross crest trail to mill creek. Snow piles every 15-20 ft in many areas of crest. Still needs a coupler weeks to melt. Mill creek upper big water unrideable as well. Bottom half to dog lake cut off is good but past that is snowed in fairly heavily as well.
haven't been over to the cottonwoods in months so this might sound like a dumb question, but is there enough snow at brighton to hike the tubes this weekend?
Nope. Full on bike season in the Cottonwoods. Still a few patches of skiiable snow at Gunsight/Alta and in the very upper elevations, but you'll have to work your @$$ off for it.
I went hiking around LCC two days ago and there is plenty of snow in the mid to upper sections. Turns are possible and you could easily haul a rail/tube with some friends.
