I guess. I'm saying that you could take every precaution possible and still get killed by some dumbass on her cell phone. I realize this could happened in a variety of situations but I'm relating it to the fact that it really doesnt matter how good a rider you are, most likely at some point you will get into an accident on your bike. Idk I just have a hard time grasping the fact that no matter how much control you think you have, you really have very little if any.

You could also ride like a dumbass, pop wheelies on the highway, drag knee on entrance ramps, and never get in a single accident.

Yes, but if you're a better rider, those crashes are likely to be rarer and less deadly. Perfect riders can get taken out, but shitty riders are statistically much more likely to.

Oh I know, I'm just saying that it really doesn't matter how could a rider you are when your safety primarily is based off the people around you. Of course an experienced rider knows where to position himself in a lane and is always scanning the road for potential problems, but they can be taken out just as easily as some on a bike for the first time.

I get what you're saying, I just think it's wrong to say that somehow ultimately it makes no difference because it probably will make a difference, there's just always a chance that it won't.

It's kind of like skiing in the BC. Even if you have all the right avy training and gear and you make all the best decisions possible (without just not going in the BC altogether) you could still get taken out by a huge avalanche and die. The knowledge just empowers you to make that less likely.

Consider a sheet of graph paper that is infinitely large. Say that galaxy x is 10 blocks away from galaxy y. Now imagine that the graph paper is being stretched in both dimensions and now there are 11 blocks between galaxy x and galaxy y. The "universe" just got bigger even though there is no edge and therefore presumably nothing outside of it.

It's not impossible that there is something outside of it, but the observation that it is expanding doesn't dictate that there is (and even if there is, we can probably never observe it).

i wonder what blind people see. most would say nothing, or black. Im talking total blind. If they see nothing what is nothing, if they see black then it is still something. Many people tell me "Black is the abscence of light, so it is nothing." I kind of disagree. what if there was a kid who could see for a long time, then went blind and could explain it. I wonder if having literally no eyes, like if they were gauged out or something, would be different than just being blind./ drunkish mystery rant

People have lost eyes in injuries. All that happens is your brain no longer gets signals from your eyes (because you have none) so there's no image. It's like turning the TV off (black).

Try to get into a pitch black dark room, with literally no light getting in (some photo labs have them). Go in there and open your eyes. It literally looks exactly the same as with your eyes closed in the same room, and darker than when your eyes are closed in the light (some light gets through your eyelids). It is very strange the first time.

Think about this... Colour does Not exist. It is a phenomenon developed by our brains. Colour is subjective to everyone differently. And it is connected to language. This is Fact. My perception of blue is different to yours.

I should add that i don't think the way i see blue compared to anyone of you is noticeable to us. We probably see about 99% of colour the same, but there might be a slight difference. Compared to the Himba people though, It's amazing.

That's a good thought. I don't think it would be possible though. I don't think what i perceive to be red is what you perceive to be blue. That's too extreme. But it's always possible.

Yeah, I think it's pretty extreme aswell but who knows. The video is still nuts though. Like what if you raised someone telling them that light colours are black, and dark colours are white. Then they woul only have 2 categories of colours. Would be pretty wild.

Yea if you could raise a child without any outside influence, and make him believe light colours were white and dark colours black, its possible that they would see the world in black and white. Good chat sir! +K back!

some blind people actually see white. my teachers wife slowly went blind over the years,  and she has trouble sleeping because she sees white.

ive thought about this before as well. i know a few people whos vision is so bad that they are considered legally blind, but its still good enough that they can wear corrective glasses and are still allowed to drive. my guess is that most people who are blind just have vision that is really really bad, but still somewhat intact. like instead of seeing black all of the time, their whole field of vision would be red if they looked at a firetruck, or blue if they looked at the sky. they just dont have the ability to define shapes or other colors, just like if they had wicked blurry vision.
