What language animals do think in? Like when they need to eat what do they think?
We are attempting to pass a rental cap amendment at my condominium complex and as part of the amendment, all current owners would be grandfathered in to maintain their current rental rights.
Some owner emails me and says word for word:
As a concerned Mom, let me describe what worries me the most about amending our by-laws according to this Declaration. We have a 24 year old son and 22 year old daughter who are the sole beneficiaries of our estate. In the event that Larry and I met with a sudden untimely demise, with this proposed amendment in place, there would be a title transfer to our children and as such, they would be subject to the rental cap agreement. Neither of our children live in Bellevue. As I understand the amendment, they would not be able to continue to rent to our current renter since the property title would have changed hands. Also, our children would be forced to abide by these rules and either be subject to the ambiguous “financial distress” situation with an uncertain outcome and hope that the board would grant them a waiver to continue to rent the unit. Or, they would be forced into foreclosure or a fire sale that may not be financially prudent. Either way, I am very uncomfortable with adding limits and restrictions to our existing by-laws.
I emailed her back and said:
Hi Mary,
So your main concern about a rental cap is that if something terrible were to happen and both you and your husband died at the same time, your children may or may not be subject to a waiting list to rent out their unit or possibly need to sell which might be for an amount that is less than desirable?
Dealing with people this stupid and self centered makes my head explode.
