2005 Line Motherships

Im very inteterested in these skis and I want to know I won't be riding any powder at all where I ski. These will still kick ass in the park right? Like they won't be to heavy or wide? Any input would be sweet.

No reason to get a ski that wide if you arent skiing pow. Thats alot of extra width/weight that you will never really 'need' to use. Unless of course you were getting some sort of super deal on them, that you cant get on other skis.

if u relllly want them, get flites. but id agree that u could save money by getting some skogens, which are a super sick park and all mtn ski. they dont do so great in pow, but since u dont ski any it deosnt matter. id get a dif ski

Did anyone get to try them yet like maybe at summer camp i really want to know how they liked them. Dash rides them in almost all of his video on the Line site and hes doing handrails and stuff. I can't imagine park would any different once you get used to riding them.

Who gives a fuck, i bought 192 moships this year, but thats because i plan on tearing up the BC and riding predominatly only powder, not because someone told me to get long skiis and that I saw the pros riding on moships.

I can't take all these twats that don't know what kind of ski they want just basing everything off of the pros and what people tell them online. Can't anyone think for themself anymore????

The motherships would be cool for the park, i have not riden them but at my local hills there are people that only ride the Mothership in the park, and when you think about it the skis are only like 10cm wider than the chronics.

The Pollard is a good middle of the road ski also.

dont just put urself in a corner with LINE skis, 4 FRNT, Armada and Dynastar all make rad skis in my opinion, look around mayb you'll find a ski that fits you perfectly but remember, your the one whos gonna end up skiing this ski so if u buy a ski you cant handle then your going to be un-happy.

moships do alright in the park... They do float quite a bit since they are so wide, even the short 183 is an ass ton of rotational weight. They do rails alright. If you are strong and are a sound park skiier they shouldnt be had at all, thats why pro's can use em just fine. Unless you meet that criteria, they will be difficult, so you will just fall a little more in the start, but once you get them figured out it will improve all of your skiing. Powder and big mountain skiing is really what they are made for. What I mean is they are a back country twin, made for doing tricks in pow, so keep that in mind. They are still a kick ass ski, you wont be disapointed untill you ski powder on them and then have to go back...

sorry but i gotta ask this, {4LIFE} how long have you been skiing? because anyone who has some knowledge of skis wouldnt even be asking that question
If you skiing powder, get the mo ships. if not dont get them.
there are reasons skis are different widths.
sad to say but your just another victom of marketing. just because someone elnse has them doesnt mean they are right for your.

Think of it this way. If you were to ride in a cycle race (Say the tour de france) would you use a mountain bike? sure it would work but would it be practical. NO. same with the moships. they will work in the park but they are just not practical. If you want to be like dash long then get some chronics, he rides those a lot too, and unlike the mo ships they will accually be the right ski for you in the park

Yeah dude I definatly realize that these skis will be much better for the back country/power than they will be for the park. But my main intent on starting this is post was because the line site says that the mothership flites are much lighter than the titaniums and are made for more freestyle abilites. I was simply asking for someones opinion on if the added width will make park skiing a ton harder. Because it seems that a wider ski would have a better/more stable landing.

And as i said before im not saying i want to get them because Dash Long has them. I was simply stating that in his video for the line site he rides them mostly all of the time and hes not doing any back county. He uses them on handrails and of park jumps so i was just saying it looks like they would work for the park just fine.

But im gonna ask another question to try to make this work more like the way i wanted it to: Who has the motherships or any fat ski for that matter who rides mainly park? Do they feel like the added width makes a big difference at all? In the landing or just in general?

i ride the ARV most of the time. From time to time will use them in a park, but i have found skis over 80mm do not excel in park. especially not the halfpipe, they become too torsionally soft.

my freind has scratch bc's and he doesn't like to ride them in the park as much as his 1260s. A narrower park ski makes spinning and rails way easier (unless your in powder).

I could compare the PE with the pistols. I have a pair of PE's and they rip in the park. But i demoed the Seths when i was in whistler. they are a great ski for the powder. But the side cut on teh seths suck for groomed runs and they are definatly harder to manuver in the park then the PE's. And the reason they say the Mo ships fliets are better is because they are lighter and softer then the titanium version

{4LIFE}, I am in the same boat as you. I have a pair of 04 Line Maverics, and I am looking to invest in some MoShip Titaniums for BC skiing,everyone I have talked to loves them, especially the Titaniums. I would go against getting the flites because I heard they have an extruded base rather than a sintered like the Titaniums. Extruded bases are typical of lower-end skis because the are not as strong and do not hold wax as well. They do have a Carbon ollieband which is a plus though, great for pop and response. If you are going to be skiing primarily BC, deff get the Line MoShips, but the Titaniums not the Flites (unless you are on a budget). Even better if you have a decent park ski for those days you know you won't be hitting any powder. From what I have heard, they MoShips are fairly managable all mountain, but of course excel in the BC. If you are just going to be skiing park all year, I wouldn't recommend the MoShips. If you are looking for the stability, just get a slightly longer park ski (granted you will be forfeiting a little spinning power, but nothing you can't adjust to). If you like Line, a great park ski would be their Chronic, otherwise Armada and 4FRNT make some very respectable skis as well. Hope this helps a little.

rk1080 dude that means that you can't ride pro models and almost any ski retard. the mothership flite are lighter than the twelve sixtys that are 9cm smaller. so get them that is what I am going to do.

Mship flites will be good for the park and east coast sh#t. Many people are rocking them (incl Line staff and riders). Shouldn't be a problem.

My personal pick for an allrounder are the Pollards.
