Has a ton of available glass for not too expensive, and you can find bodies out there in good condition for under 4 bills. Michelle can attest to how amazing they are.
On ebay it's the shipping to Canada that kills it, same with B&H.
Film in general in Canada is stupidly expensive. I pay $10 per role of 35mm for cheap colour or B&W, for good colour like portra or fuji pro it can get up to $15 per role, and upwards of $20 per role for slide film.
Really? I'd assume you could probably find guys on ebay who ship to canada for free... especially if they're based in Hong Kong or any other commonwealth.. or just any NAFTA country lol.
Yeah, I'm getting pretty good at finding deals. I actually really like shooting expired kodak gold and other film types that can be had for cheap, the best deal I've found so far is two roles of hp5 for $10. It's just definitely more than in the USA.
Developing isn't bad, we have a great lab in ottawa that does a ton for the fine art world so they do c41/e6/B&W for up to 8x10 negs. Quality is top notch and it's not too expensive. I can get processing and low res (4mp) scans for $12.
A friend of mine just bought 1000 or so exposures worth of expired 110 film for his Pentax 110 SLR for like 15 bucks on some crazy deal on craigslist. He's been shooting it like he would digital.
