NZ ski trip advice

So I'm heading to NZ for 7 days after my semester in Sydney ends (June 20th) and I'm looking to get some advice on skiing in NZ...anyone have any input on what mountains/areas are best and what some affordable accommodation is? I'll also need to rent boots/skis but I don't want the shitty ones from resorts, so any input on that would be great.

a rental car will be your best friend.  Anywhere around Wanaka and you've got plenty of options

go wanaka or queenstown so ski either coronet peak, cardrona, treble cone or snow park. rent a car as said earlier it will be really helpful. Rent your gear at a shop in wanaka or queenstown. As for affordable accommodation look into a youth hostel (always cheapest)
