1st Double Cork in the halfpipe by a woman snowboarder
an article popped up on my newsfeed the other day about Taya Turski training on an airbag so she could learn flips because she wants to start learning off axis tricks, can she seriously not cork or flip?
i feel like they have a long way to go in terms of stepping up their entire runs, to start trying doubles. that was pretty low out of the pipe which is sketchy. You have to get everything done up to doubles before you should bother starting them. I read in another thread that Wallisch didn't want to try a triple because he had so many doubles to do first, seems like a great mindset, people are just going from 360 to double (exaggeration) and its not smart. It would be way better to see the girls up their amplitude and start throwing some bigger tricks that aren't doubles with more style. In saying that, they all rip way harder than me in the pipe so need respect, cause pipe skiing is scary.
holy crap people. Give some credit where credit is due. Props to Elena for pushing the women's side of the sport.
Who cares that she didn't go 15' out her first time trying in on snow? Start small and work your way up. I'm sure as she gets better and more confidant, it will get bigger and bigger.
