Another "what camera for me thead"..sorry...

Details on what i want.
1.)Needs to record 720p 60fps, or 1080p 60fps.
2.)Mainly filming skiing, fourwheelers, dirtbikes, action sports.
3.)Under 300 dollars. I'm on a REALLY tight budget.
4.)I DONT WANT A GOPRO. It needs to be a camcorder.
5.)Experience..i've filmed with a kodak playsport, gopros..canon t2i's, and a gl2.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but the only cam you're gonna get with 720p60 that is worth anything is a gopro. the panasonic tm700 is the next step up and its about 600-700 bucks.

actually sanyo makes a camcorder that has 1080/60p as well for cheaper than the tm700. that being said, the tm700 is way better and for ~$500 it's an amazing deal.

okay nvm on the 1080/60. Didn't really expect anything with that in my budget range.

But i really find it hard to believe that there isn't any handycam type cameras that shoot at 60fps..for under 300 dollars..

my littles brothers friend got this and proceeded to tell me how it was the best camera ever made. It was pistol grip style, it recorded 1080i at 60 fields a second (not frames), and needless to say, it was a complete POS. OP go with the go pro. the new ones have some cools stuff, but the originals still work great. just don't get a 960

you could try something like this, and then pick up a memory card

I know this was one of their particularly good ones (that doesn't use tapes), not sure if it does 720/60p. You could also look at sony's, though I don't know their models too well. Just avoid anything with a hard drive, and try to stay away from tapes

that's not the one i'm talking about. the one i'm talking about is a camcorder and was one of the first consumer cams to have 1080/60p, even before the tm700

well my friend has a gopro so that's another reason why i dont want one.

Are there any handycams-type cameras with good quality that don't shoot at 60fps but would still be nice for shooting skiing?

Yes i did, and i'm interested in that it'll probly be a week or 2 till i buy the camera..so if that one get's sold i still have other cameras to fall back on.

Don't have enough time to learn everything about them..and i don't have the money for all the things that i need for a good dslr set up.

the canon vixia hf-20 is a really good option i used mine for about a year and a half and got really good footage it does 1080 and 720 at 60i, also 24mbps, I am now trying to sell mine to upgrade to a better dslr but if your interested pm me!

I read something about it doing 24p and 30p but as 60i, you would know more than me though. And to chubz, I was just checking, never hurts to check craigslist either, there can sometimes be some killer deals (or ripoffs on stolen stuff haha)

agreed, sell your body on the streets...

but in all serious, anything that is 60i is NOT what you want. interlaced video is the worst thing since burnt popcorn. if you are that dead set on not getting a gopro, save up a little more. although a new gopro with the lcd backpack would be ideal for action sports and get you by until you saved up a little more.

or if you have a smartphone like the rest of everyone else, or so it seems, get the gopro app that allows you to wirelessly uplink what you just filmed.
