who can help me, im goin in tomorrow to dispute it... but i was speeding, all ive got is that the guy was an asshole. i realize this is the worst place to ask people for advice but hey, i can sift through all the bullshit and there are plenty of delinquent little bastards out there... so whats going to get me off the hook?

awesome... i got it in that little podunk town where the big mining musem is, coming into town on the way to whistler, speeds 50, i was going 90 they said. never even saw the sign... and i was slowing down too because i had caught up to the cars in front of me. it was really gay and the cop was fucking yelling at me too and like threatening me with negligent driving for having missed the sign... it was mighty gay, its like a 200 dollar ticket too.

Was it 2 lane or 1 lane? if its 2 lane, say the guy aimed the radar on the car beside you, but stop you.
Also, ask when the radar was calibrated, if it wasnt calibrate the same day, you win.
Also, say that you looked at your speed and were going 55, and you are really certain of this.
Its you say against the cop say, and the cop will prolly not show up. so you will win.

scour the ticket, if there is ANYTHING wrong on the ticket, if anything the officer wrote is illegible, if a 4 looks like a 9, wrong car color, anything weird on the ticket and it will be dropped

The cops always hang around Brittania Beach because the speed limit drops there for a bit and people don't usually realize it. It fills their ticket quotias nicely.

tell them youre a student and cant afford it. also, youve learnt from your mistake and it wont happen again. three friends have tried this, all in different municipalities. two of the three didnt have to pay and one got a 300dollar ticket reduced to 75 bucks

I was going to dispute my ticket for $125, but I figured the drive to Vancouver, the hour in court, and drive home wasn't worth it, so I just paid it.

^it's not about getting your tickets reduced and what not...that part doesn't matter. It's the rates your going to have to pay to insurance for having speeding tickets on your record.
My first ticket i dint know about getting a lawyer but I got a deferal, you can get one every seven years in washington and basicly the ticket was pending for six months and if i didn't get another traffic ticket in those six months the original ticket is/was removed from my record.

haha. he's not fucked if it doesnt say how fast he was going anywhere on the ticket. All you gotta do is show up promptly, wear some nice clothes, and say you are missing a college class and you need to get back ASAP. They'll be like 'meh, he's not worth it.'

u shoulda asked to see the radar , at a certain age cops go on the honor system of telling how fast you are going , if he doesnt take an actual radar reading and u call him out on it hes fucked.
If he wasnt in full uniform its not ligit either , did he have his hat on?

You can ask to see the radar too. Randall got fucked in Michigans Upper Penninsula, the cop said he was going 70 in a 55, and i think he was going like 63 or something. But she was a bitch to him about it.

so yea is that really a law about the whole pacing thing b/c i got pulled over for 84 in a 65 at 1 in teh mornin, and there is that super gay law in jersey that is like if ur not 18 u cant be out past midnight, but the cop was really chill and only gave me a written warning which does nothing. Still sucked tho..he could'a fucked me over

When you get the ticket, ask for a copy of all the information about your fine, theres a box you can check on the back of the ticket to get this. There is usually a two week deadline before the case is put into court to get the info for your case, so what you do is go to the city hall at the very last day before the deadline and ask for the info to be sent to you. If the town is small and or underfunded, they usually cant get the information to you by the time of the court appearance, so when you are called up, simply say 'The City of _________ did not send me the information about my infraction, so i cannot present my case' and the judge must clear it. Thats what i've heard that works around my town anyways.

well i went to court this morning, taht info ^ there may have worked, but it would appear in BC that my knowledge of my speed and the exactg statement of location isnt necessary. i went in the judge asked if id talked to the officer, i said no. i went out, he said, i have my notes here, they say you were going 90 in a 50 in britannia beach... i ask if it matters that none of that is on my ticket he says no, youve got nothing so you might as well go back and plead guilty... and i couldnt really think of anything,. else... forgot to ask about calibratino but whatever. went in, said i was guilty, then they asked if i had any explanation and i said as a non-local it was easy to miss the signage... so the officer butted in with where all the signs were... then i said i was a student... so the judge gave me til next year to pay, but i still got fucked. and reallyt, why wouldnt i? the entire process is a well refined profit-generating device. they know that you cant really do shit and they have all the advantage. so really its just a buillshit system so fuck the man, fuck society and fuck you before you fuck me... right?

The first thing I asked the cop when I got my ticket was if they had a radar reading in me. He did not. So when I disputed it in court the other day I told the judge that there was no documentation of my speed and also that the cop said that he had 'estimated' that I was going 70 from 4 blocks away. All my charges were dropped.
