a bit more speed than you need to straight air the jump
get pumped up, pop hard, and tuck but keep it smooth, if your whip yourself hard you'll stall out but if you continue pulling the flip around you'll be fine
DO NOT pop and tuck too early unless you want to bury your head in the lip and/or eat the knuckle
the best way to approach a backflip is with far more speed than you need, do it on a 5 foot jump, and apporach switch, on a monoskis, with only one foot in.. good luck!
meh, they're super easy. had trouble learning them off of small, 10-15 ft jumps in years past. then this year i sacked up on a warmer day, realized it's only snow and sent it, landed it on my first try. commit commit commit and you'll be fine. do it on the biggest jump you're comfortable (you won't be comfortable on any but it makes it way easier.)
Homie don't even do it off a legit jump. Find/Build a small 5-10 ft cut out on the side of a trail Straight air it twice and make sure you're getting some good air (3-4ft Vert - 4-5 ft Fwd.)
But for reals, don't huck it, don't just whip your head back and hope your back follows. Same technique as on the tramp- arms up, tuck yo knees in.
And make sure the ladies are watching.
