Shoot the video in VGA and crop the video in then upload it straight to YouTube

this and often leave the camera with a lens off and no cap so you can get some cool effects later on

but in all seriousness, to the op, there are no best settings, there are some that work to give better results, but you really just have to play around with it. The 180 degree shutter rule is good, but many people like a slightly faster shutter for action/slow motion. The best thing you can do is to get on google and learn how iso, shutter speed, and aperture affect video, and then look up some basic tips on composition. You could also try to recreate a picture or video you like online, to further understand how each setting affects the image. but really, the best thing you can do is play around and learn for yourself.

** also, take your time to understand your camera.. when i got mine, i didn't even know what iso, aperture and shutter-speed was ahaha

last I knew that turned into a discussion about camera features, and there wasn't a ton of solid advice. there were a few helpful things, but you have to weed through a lot. willstart had a thread/post or something a while ago that had really good tips for exporting, I used to have them saved in compressor, but now I switched to cs5.5
