k that this is a ski website, but i was wondering if anyone had any ideas on how to build a minI ramp(for skateboarding). there is plans and how to things on the web but if anyone has ever bulit one, cou;ld the share some advice.K++
I have a really nice one in my basement I built about 10 years ago. All i did was cut the "sides" to the basic shape and vert I wanted the ramp. Basically draw out what you want on some 1/2 ply and use the first one as a template for the other three. Connect all the sides with 2/4's to build a basic frame. Screw on 1/4 ply over the frame and cover with masonite/skatelite. Attach coping. Done!
Basically this. Masonite is very expensive there are cheaper alternatives at lowes. I forget what the stuff we got us called but I'll check when I get home it works great and it's like 24 bucks a sheet instead if say a hundred plus.
USE SKATELITE. It's a must, its more expensive but really, use it. When that Masonite gets soggy it will cost so much to fix it. And it sucks so much to unscrew and replace everything.
finished building mine sunday, its fucking prime. im going to stain it instead of masonite because masonite gets wrecked when its outside in the rain and stuff and skatelite is mad expensive
im not sure man, my dad got nearly all the wood from work (hes a contractor) but i bet if we bought it all it would be somewhere around $1500. we built ours super legit though and its made to last but im sure you could build one for much cheaper
