Need ideas to help out a friend..

So this weekend the t-shirt company me and some friends are starting hosted a pool party at one of the local college apartment complexes. One of my friends was there with his camera set up. He is an amateur/professional sports photographer. His camera setup is worth over $3,000. And of course it got stolen.
Nobody has any idea who did it or how it happened. The apartment complex has no cameras so they are no help. He had his main camera setup there to take pictures for us and help out.
So NS, how can I somehow help my friend how. Since it got stolen he is going to have a hard time working. It was his main camera and now without it hes not sure how to get a new one since it will cost alot to replace it.

once your company gets off the ground, start donating some of your earnings towards a new camera for him. it may take a while, but he'll be grateful nonetheless.

This sounds very simple. He goes to the bank and takes out a loan. The bank realizes it is a sound investment, as it is his working tools. Really, if he is a "professional" anything, obtaining a 3K loan should not be a big deal.
