I'm the biggest fucking pussy when it comes to fliping into water especially because I always through flats usually flat 5. I got a few of a platform about a meter over a pool but some kids can just huck backies and stuff of huge 20ft cliffs . I've landed wrong in the water before and it hurts like fuck! that's why I'm such a pussy! help? +k
Dont front flip. When you over rotate a front flip into the water you smash your face and bite your tongue. Or atleast dont front flip till you feel very comfortable with the drop/jump.
just keep doing what you're doing, eventually you'll begin to feel more confident and once your confidence increases you'll be more willing to try a flip. And when you eventually try one you'll find that their actually really easy and you could do them with your eyes closed. It's just about confidence and commitment.
It's all timing. Once you are confident in knowing how far you have to fall youll be fine. I find backies easiest to learn on cliffs because it's easiest to spot your landing.
This. First time learning to flip off a diving board ewing buds I smashed my face and eyes into the water alot of times. Hurt like hell. The painful nose and face smash sensation stayed with me for a week and on the last day I vomited all over my shag carpet. Had to be cleaned up with a wet/dry shop vac. I learned my lesson about spotting landings.
They might seem scary at first, but they're the best thing to do off cliffs. Keeps you occupied so you don't flail or hit the water seated. Just get a couple steps in, hips out, knees up and look for the landing.
Dont jump straight up. Im not saying anything is easy when jumping off a cliff/platform or anything. But in my experience frontflip sucked when I was doing it. Nearly bit my tongue off.
sorry i forget i cant use diving lingo here when you hit the board it's because, when you leave the board a lot of people set(throw the dive their doing) on a reverse(when you jump forward and do a back flip) with there head meaning the look back before they jump out you are not supposed to look back with your head you throw out first then flip.
hahahahah some of the worst english i've ever seen. please tell me you're either 12 or don't speak english as a first language. It's quite obvious that you guess everytime "there, their, they're" comes up and you seem to be guessing wrong everytime.
he said that its not his first language. and for that its quite ok. obviously in other languages its sometimes more common to use longer sentences or youre used to use them becquse you master the language. and its just not a good idea to do that in a second language. i also was thrown into ns grammar nazi concentration camps a few times. but who cares. everybodz knows what he meant. it was just funny when he thought that the "diver lingo" was the confusing part
that is so fuckin gnarly... but yea if you've got enough height then don't tuck the front flip because you'll rotate a lot slower and therefore won't belly flop as easily. Don't try and backflip you're fist few times because its a pretty scary sensation at first
Try misty 5's, they are so easy I'm usually more comfortable doing them than straight airing. I tried bringing it into a dub misty 9 last year but lost track of where I was and opened up to early and slammed which was super painful.
first flip i ever did off of my schools high dive was a frontflip... by the third time i was going for maximum spring and superman frontflipping it, i love frontflips because (atleast in my experience) the momentum is much easier to break than that of a backflip.
