I already got some knockarounds but I'm kinda sick of them... Im lookin for some new relatively cheap (up to 60 bucks maybe) sunglasses for this summer. Thanks!
Go to the mall.
Go to a sunglasses store.
Find a decent pair that fits your face.
Go on eBay and snag them for half price.
Remember to look for other color options that weren't available in the store.
Look like a balla' and save some dollas.
Listen real quick yo, you have directions to follow.
Buy some plugs for your ears cus the bitches will holla'.
Take my advice man, I'm a sunglass scholar.
Just get some cheap frogskin knockoffs from your local gas station for $10. I've never understood spending a lot of money on something that almost inevitably gets broken or lost.
I did have a pair of Neff sunglasses once that were sick though.
Im a firm believer in quality sunglasses. I only have one set of eyes and i work on the water all summer every summer.I have been buying Polarized Oakley since 2004 and i have never been disappointed. I usually spend between 170$-250 Every summer for one brand new pair and the last me about a year before i need new lenses or something stupid happens. You can step on em and put them back together and Ive seen the optical clarity tests in person and i have also seen them being shot with a steel bearing at 100mph in person and they didn't break. SOoooo maybe some extra $$ is worth you eye health. Ive got Black Eyepatch 2's right now, love em. Getting Jawbones custom ordered in Baby blue for this summer.. cant wait.
That's right my man, I buy premium shades only. They help m eyes, and they make me feel awesome for whatever reason. Sunglasses are one of the things that I splurge on for some reason, but I still manage to get good deals on nice shades. 1 new pair a year is what I usually do.
You can buy polarized safety rated sunglasses for a hell of a lot less than $150. They might not look as swag as Oakleys, but they meet the same standard.
agreed, I only wear oakley. Have about 10 pairs including goggles.
polarization isnt what you want in glasses, you want 100% uv A and uvB protection which oakley has, as well as being a certified safety glasses that the military uses. you cant go wrong.
you can usually get frogskins for a decent price, around 75. that is pretty damn cheap for quality glasses. plus whats great about oakley is that they sell lenses for their glasses to, so I like to switch up looks with that.
i've been in the oakley truck too, and lemme tell you, those tests are a bunch of shit.
yeah, i will say oakley does have really good optical precision, but they put it up against a lens they know they can beat.
the shotgun test of oakley vs. maui jim? they use a glass lens maui jim, no shit it's going to shatter, it's glass, but that glass lens they just shattered is more optically correct, and scratch resistant than the oakley.
long story short, stop taking the long dick of oakley, and look around.
HA HA hows this. The lasers seemed to line up to me regardless of how the other lenses did. When Oakley shades went on the beams that shit didn't move AKA fucking good enough for me. . AND SECOND, regardless if the other shades were glass or paper, the fucking oakley lenses took a ball bearing and didnt break. . + customer service is pretty fucking on point and they gave me free custom put together Crowbars that night so if Oakley has a dick and its made out of free goggles then ill put it on my face. What a stupid post on your part.
you mean a polycarbonate lens... the same stuff that they use to make bullet proof windows stood up to a ball bearing?
no fucking way.
brands that use a better lens than oakley are fucking numerous.
They don't even use a layering process in their lenses. They fucking shrink rap a UV filter onto a piece of plastic, and that's they're lens. How about this for a fact, depending on how frequently you wipe your glasses you can effectively rub the UV filter off of a pair of oakley's in under a year.
I have a pair of frog skins that were made in china that means they were made in the 80's with no coating coming off of them and they were abused. I also have a pair of flak jackets that are polarized and the coating doesn't come off. My dad also has the Same pair he wears every day and cleans after every use like you should, for four years and no coating has come off. Oakley makes the best glasses in that price range it isn't even an argument.
just because it hasn't happened to you personally, doesn't mean it never happens, and the likeliness of you noticing a clear coating on your lens is wearing down is pretty minimal, but it does happen. not to mention that a pair of frog skins from the 80's is a completely different beast than what they manufacture currently, seeing as all of their eye wear is made in the states now (actually their lenses are made in Ohio), and that oakley doesn't even own themselves anymore.
and oakley price range varies from around 90 bucks to 500..... and no, typically they are not much cheaper than a better sunglass from one of their competitors
Never said they were cheaper? Out of my ten pairs I have never had an issue. Do you just hate oakley? Also the c-six is a little over 1K with the carbon fiber version.
last sentence of your previous post. and ahh yes i forgot about their stupid ass carbon fiber bull shit they produced.
and no, I don't hate Oakley, actually have a few pairs. I'm just tired of the disinformation that plagues this site about oakley being far an away the best sunglasses, goggles etc. when it's absolutely not true, they're just the best at marketing themselves.
There are two reasons why I like oakley, well three actually. 1. Is that they are safety glasses and used by the us military as well as many police forces, I use my flak jackets for shooting. 2: they are uvA and uvB protection certified. And lastly is that I like their designs it is nice to have a pair of glasses that are functional and look good. Yes you could say I am biased, hell I have an Oakley shirt on today which I do almost everyday because I like that company, yes it has gone down hill since lt was bought out buy liuxota(spelled that wrong) but until they do something that I don't like I will continue to support Oakley.
As for goggles. I've tried smith, spy, anon, electric, vonzipper and giro. None have ever come close to the quality of my oakleys. That's not marketing that's just the way it is. They have quality products, they can charge what thy want which isn't much more than any other high quality goggles or glasses.
