Whats the best lense for a canon t2i! HELP

so im big into photography but just starting out, i have canon t2i with stock 50 mm lense and 75 - 200 mm

lense, it doesnt have image stabilizer so it sucks, i want to get a wide angle lense for filming in the park,

but i also need a good zoom lense, i film surfing and you can get too close you know, so i dont know

what the awnser is i s just want one all around good lense that has crisp quality, i think maybe a 15- 300

or something with a wide angle attachment could be good, idk if that even exist, i just need help, post

i did apologize a while ago, i got all the help i needed and ordered the lens they said would be the best for me, i was upset that day and unleashed on everyone, i dont like gettingripped off, bbutwere freind now  and i gave them all +k for help and tens on the recent videos!

Everyone hates this thread but I never bought a lens yet(has to fix my car radio) but I har money to do it again, I thought of selling the stock 18-55mm and my 70-300mm if your Intrested tell me, and I want to get the tamron 17-50mm for filming and when I get a little more money I like the 24-104mm L lens for all around photos, these both are nice lens to fit my needs, anyone else agree?

I'm now considering waiting a while and getting a t2i, but as I'm very short of money at the moment I was wondering whether(for shooting park skiing almost exclusively) it would be better to have the 18-55 kit lens, or get the 50mm f1.8 ii prime lens, as they're both very cheap and I've heard a lot of good about the prime lens, but Having a bit of zoom would be nice, also if you had any other recommended lenses that are around the same price that'd be good too

Probably better to get the non VC (second) one. Lighter, cheaper, better IQ, plus vibration compensation really doesnt make much of a difference in that range. You really can't go wrong with either though.

That's what VC (vibration compensation) is. At this focal length it really doesn't make a huge difference, in fact, in some cases it can actually make your pictures blurrier.

yeah this. no one on here has ever recommended VC over the non VC as far as i've seen. i've not used it, but every person i've ever seen recommending the non VC has said its a lot sharper. plus it's cheaper...

best overall lens: canon 24-105mm F4L IS. good range, quality built, F4 is not that bad and is a fix Fstop + IS is freaking amazing when you have to hurry and shoot something handheld !. my best investment so far.

the kit lens all the way!!!



k i have a tamron 17-50. its eh... decent. but if your budget is 400 dollars, lenses are extremely durable compared to the body. you could find a telephoto lens for 300 used like an 80-315 and those are 1000 dollar lenses. so do some craigslisting and find an actual photographer so you know it hasnt been smudged too

haven't really heard any negative things about it from anybody, and i've used it myself and thought it was a great lens.

it got stiff after a season. couldnt take quick pics. it also didnt take clear pictures unless it was right on the dot. i mean the exact depth. but i mean other than that, it was an awesome lens to begin with for true ski photography

image stabilization wont do shit when your shooting with a telephoto handheld, why did you even get a t2i, you seem better suited for a handycam

and then your facebook page was the icing on the cake
spend more time becoming a better photographer than arguing with NS members about what gear to buy

my apature is usually at around 8 when im shooting big mountain stuff but at 15 when im shooting park. it was still hella hard to get it in focus fast enough. the fucking kit lens was easier haha.

why dont you manual focus? at f15 pretty much everything is in focus around the infinity mark

I would say, at f/15 shooting video, you pretty much don't even need to focus. Maybe he's focusing without using the dof preview switch?
