Winter Photography

Well after a long summer of exploring photography I'd like to take it to the snow. Any film, exposure, shutter speeds, apertures, settings, tricks, that will help. Snow can be a pretty tough factor to deal with. Any suggestions, tricks, etc...

i dont do still photography, but in snow it is important you get your exposure and white balence just right, and I use auto - Netraul Density Filter most of the time. Makes it so thers no glare and tones the brightness down a little.

Get an 18% Grey Card. Meter off that to get an accurate exposure.

get polarizer filter... altitude will make the blue sky dark and amazing..... also if its sunny try metering off the blue sky

Overexpose by +1. This will render the snow an actual white color, not a midtone gray that the meter will automatically choose.

meter off a gray card, or your hand, or buy a hand held ambent light meter.
