The downfall of Mediafire, Hulkshare, and Zippyshare

Well to all the music lovers out there.
Whats your next move? I personally got a majorty of my music from mediafire. But it seems that nearly everly link is bunk because the government has shut it down.

So where should I turn to next. I dont know how to torrent and dont want to get into all of that.

Any suggestions???

If you could find it on Mediafire you can find it on YT. Inthat case:

videotomp3.com

Mediafire hasn't shut down, all music from before 2000 is still on there.

My computer crashed because I had no anti-virus software and rampantly torrented a bunch of music, but if you're smart about it it should be alright. I only torrent full albums, other than that use www.dirpy.com
It's pretty good quality and easy to use Youtube-MP3 converter.

Not to be that guy but i was the same way like no torrents, but then mediafire was put down, and youtube-mp3 takes too long, so I got a torrent program. It's the way to go.

Its the same as browsing the internet. Ive never had any antivirus or malware protection software and never had a trojan/virus/malware infect my PC. I know my shit though, and if you're not a complete retard downloading the first link that pops up there are no reason for your PC to get infected.

Always look for the best seeders/leechers ratio. Seeders being the ones that help you download faster. Also take a look at the comments, you'll eventually know the regular torrent uploaders you can always trust.

Also websites like beemp3 or the many youtube->mp3 converters will result in the worst sound quality. Always look for 192kbs or when you're lucky 320kbs.

Normally I agree with you puzzled. But if you knew your shit you'd have antivirus protection. Not even just for the big stuff, but for the junk you pick up at every site.

I hate to shit on this idea but, http://soundcloud.com/. All you have to click is the download link. And you are a lot less likely to get in trouble. Either way i dont reccomend downloading music for free as it is illegal under the songs copyright.

Download realplayer, go to youtube and go to the song you want to dowload, in the top left of the vid a realplayer download tab should appear, download it the convert it to a mp3 file.

You just said in your other post that one of the good things about soundcloud is that people will post popular songs that you can download off of it. That's just as illegal.

Well if its a .rar file you'll need winRar to extract the mp3s www.winrar.com

Go check your documents, you should have a folder called Vuze Downloads. The torrents you download are supposed to get there.


Also to the guy who said I needed an antivirus, no I do not. As long as you watch what you click, keep your cookies and Temp. files clean, don't have enemies and clean up your PC once in a while you should have no trouble. The only kind of protection you need are proper firewalls and thats not an obligation really, except if you're running any kind of business servers.

Ahaha yea i also said if your into that kind of thing. For small artists i hate it when people try to download their songs illegally, because it actually really hurts them. For huge artists not so much but i still dont really like when people do it. Not sure if this is true but i heard one of the reasons the price for songs increased from 1 to 1.30 on itunes was because artists where not making enough money because people where downloading their songs illegally and it was enough people to affect the artist.

If they only provide an option to buy for a song then they usually want people to buy it. Most small artists make a lot of songs and on a couple of them they only provide buy links. When you download those songs illegally that kinda makes me mad. Thats me personally and alot of artists i know.
