What's the worst injury you have sustained as a child?

Mine was probably when I was 4 years old. I was at a Fourth of July party. I got nailed right above the eye with a metal swing. 12 stiches on my forehead. My parents said I flew back like I got hit by a shockwave. Post up. Sorry if it's a repost

Broken collar bone at 1 1/2. My sister was tossing me up in the air and didn't catch me. I actually remember this too which is very surprising.

I was probly 8? At the beach, was low tide, had to piss. Stood on a slipper rock, when I was done playing fireman I slipping and my head landed on a very pointy pyramid. 2 staples.

You are all going to love this. It all started with my birthday during 5th grade. The grade was singing happy birthday to me in the lunchroom. Nearing the end of the song, one of my friends throws a french fry at me as a joke. This was not just any ordinary french fry; it was OVERCOOKED! The french fry struck me in the eye and I had to go the nurses office. That dumb bitch thought I got a little grain of salt in my eye and pumped water in my eye for 10 minutes which sucked. Then I went to the eye doctors and that darn french fry laserated my cornea, which is the equivalent to cutting it. I had to wear an eye patch for a week. It wasn't a very good birthday...

Broken Tib/Fib, and a ski boot to my chin, cutting it wide open. All happened after I didnt properly get on a chairlift, and fell 30ft to ice pack.

I have assaulted the same coffee table in my house twice.
first time I was 3 and running round jumping on and off the sofa pretending to be batman or something I don't know, anyway put a foot wrong and face planted onto the side of it breaking my nose pretty bad. its still crooked. The second time I was about 5, the coffee table is a wooden rectangle with 2 square panes of glass in it. I was jumping up and down on the glass, knowing two things - eventually it would break, and as a result my mother would flip. Not really realising why I was continuing, as both eventualities were far from ideal, I think I became hooked on the premise that I was going to break the glass in my bare feet and jimmy jammies.  Obviously had stolen too many 'after eight' chocolates. Soon enough I went crashing through it. My mother said she found me alternating between laughter and crying while the blood from my legs soaked into the encyclopedias below.

Other than that I once ate a raw chicken nugget which my mother instructed me not to because it would give me salmonella. I ate it with the response that 'I eat burnt matches the whole time' I promptly got salmonella.

Lastly I got knocked out playing cricket in the nets once, I was queing up to bowl when a stray ball came out the nets in the air, I watched it fall calling "heads" right up until the point it hit me square between the eyes.

Those aren't the worst but possibly the funniest.  I was born ginger too, haven't stopped feeling the effects of that in ever

when i was little i was playing knee hockey with a friend in my basement he chopped me right on the eye lid. i had to get 7 stitches ON my eyelid

a full sized ladder fell on me when i was 2. my head and body went between the rungs which probably saved my life but it landed on my finger and shattered the tip and disfigured the nail bed. my middle fingernail on my left hand still doesnt grow properly 17 years later and it probably never will. there's a large split down the middle and a smaller nail growing on top of the split

When i was 7 or 8 I was at a friends house and was climbing a ladder to get up into her loft. It was around 12 feet tall and i was carrying something in my right hand, don't remember exactly what. Just as I reached the top of the ladder the thing I was carrying slipped out of my hand and for some reason I thought it would be a great idea to try to catch it with my left hand. It wasn't. I ended up catching the thing before it got too far away and as you guess was fairly stoked, well until I realized I was no longer holding onto the ladder and I began to fall to the ground. On the way down I hit my head on the edge of her kitchen table. I got up and my head kinda heart but i wasn't bleeding so i thought i was fine so i started the climb back to the loft. My mom being slightly paranoid witnessed the whole thing and immediately grabbed me off the ladder and rushed me to the hospital thinking I was concussed and some other shit. In the end I got some x-rays and had a little chip out of my skull but the doctor said I would be fine.

spark notes: fell of 12 foot ladder trying to catch something i dropped landed on edge of kitchen table, only chipped my skull.

Well my dad told me to tell my mom to stop smoking when I was like 3. So I got real excited and went running off and tripped fell on my face and put my teeth through my lips haha. So after that my dad would blame that injury on my mom smoking and finally got her to quit like a year later lol.

fell off a transformer box thing and smashed my face when i was ~6 years old. it was all scabby and disgusting for weeks

took a nail to the face when rolling out of bed in a log cabin ~7 i think

my dad accidently hit me in the head with the pointed end of a hammer when i was like 3. i also smashed my nose into my face on a coffee table at about the same age. and when i was 11 i got hit in the face with a baseball and fractured the bone under my eye. apparently if it had chipped it would have gone into my brain and i would have died

When I was three I was playing in the park and decided to try and slide down one of those fireman's pole things while spinning... my right leg planted on the ground while my body kept spinning and I twisted my tibia and fibula around until they splintered. Then my dad didn't believe I was actually hurt and threatened to take me home if I didn't stop crying. A man nearby told him that he heard it snap and I was taken to the hospital.

In third grade a friend and I were golfing in front of his house. On one of the swings he didn't look and I stood too close. On the backswing his club went straight into my cheek. Cutting it wide open. 11 stitches, great story to tell now though.

first day of 3rd grade i sent a backflip off the monkey bars and ended it up hitting my chin on the bars, i bit my tongue almost in half.

I have had some shitty ones that will fuck me when I'm older. In 4th grade, I ate shit bmxing and my ring finger went inbetween my chain and the gear that the pedals are attached to. It broke the finger in nine places, shattered it, and tore the skin off. I still can't bend it. Then i dislocated my pelvis in 6th grade, along with fracturing my tail bone. I also tored my rotary cuff and miniscus playing football as a youngster. Tail bone was probably the most painful, rotary cuff and miniscus are the two that still give me problems.

Fucking phone. She freaked when she saw me with a sliced-open chin. 2. I was on a camping trip with my class by the side of a river. We were a bunch of 8-year olds by the side of a river, of course were we going to build a rock bridge across the river. We were half way across the river when another boy threw a big ass stone to me. It was slick and it fell on my left foot. Three of my toes were smashed and the bigtoe is still fucked. I think though that the worst part is that i had to jam the foot into a pair of shoes that was one size too small and the hike two miles back to the road.

also. i rode my bike down a not-so-steep bridge across the highway. my training wheels had just come off, my brakes didnt work and i didnt know what to do i i crashed into one of these at the end of the bridge

I was cutting oranges with a steak knife when I was little and stabbed my hand all the way through. Happened twice on separate occasions and had to go to the ER for both to get it out.

Mashed the throttle on my dirt bike in third grade on pavement while trying to feel the exhaust and got dragged down the driveway on my knees.

Had a rock dropped on my head from the top of a slide and bled like crazy.

Broken collar bone skiing.

when i was six I fell out of a tree onto the edge of a brick with my head. fell about 10-12 feet. cracked my skull and got 8 staples.
lucky for me there was a paramedic sitting eating lunch about 20 ft from where I fell when it happened
