Best Park in New York

theres no such thing as a good park in new york as far as i know. but it seems like hunter has stepped up their park game this year pretty significantly

apparently you've never been to Whiteface.

from my experience hunter and whiteface have been the best park. granted they're in completely different areas... what area of new york are you going to be in? still the togg area?

Ya i will still be in the togg area.

I live in Ithaca and Togg is pretty much the best place around (before considering the Catskill/Pocono areas). If you have a car and are willing to drive there's Holiday Valley, but I've never been there. Togg seems to put the most effort in their park, and it wasn't too bad this year. They were definitely held back by the lack of snow this year, hopefully next year should be better.

Of course I have no car and so for me Togg is the best mountain I can get rides to. Also, if you don't know Togg has an early season rail jam which they may do again.

Hunters park is nice no doubt, but im not sure if the best.

Shit that looks crazy fun. Realistically Holiday Valley and Whiteface will have the best parks out of New York, but there are so many more places closer to where ever you will be. Tog and Lab are always competing for the better park, and this year I feel Lab won. Togs park manager Nick Mir left and I am not too sure on his status of coming back or not, but regardless he was one of the main people that made the park sick as it was in the years past, also I am unsure of the current management. With all that considered I certainly hope that Tog can still have a solid park, but unfortunately I don't see that happening without Nick to overlook everything. (correct me if I am wrong about any of this regarding Tog, but as I went there once this year in late December the park was lacking as compared to prior years). With that said, I am a local at Lab and the park this year was hands down the best in years, regardless of the lack of snow. Lab purchased some new boxes, and was able to set up most of the rails, and the park was just a blast. Also, the people that I ski with at Lab are just a good group of guys, we always joke around and have a blast. Two of the people in the "group" are actually on the park crew, so that benefits us a ton. I could not be happier than with what I have at lab, especially considering I live only thirty minutes away. Again, that being said I am not saying Lab or Togs parks are as good as some of the other ones in New York. Hunters park looks ill, and also Bristol has a pretty solid park. If you ever come to Lab, shoot me a pm before, we'd be glad to ski with you!

togg's park was lacking this year in maintenance. a lot of the features were sketchy, icy, steep, and targeted towards more advanced riders. i'll give lab that.

however you can't really judge togg's park off a day in late december when the season didn't start until dec 23rd this year.

Just wondering if there's any good place to get updates on Lab's park. Last season I went to Togg because I knew that they had features up and couldn't find anything from lab. Found some clips released post season and lab's park actually looked really fun. Broto is right Togg was pretty burly last season, lab looked alot more laid back.

Unfortunately there aren't many updates on Labs park, when there are big changes however they will update it on the facebook page. You can always call ahead in the main office and they will try their best to explain what is set up. Cheers!

Whiteface park (when mostly finished) > anything I have seen in NY.

I just moved to Elmira, NY and it looks like I'm between Greek Peak and Bristol. I've been to Bristol and def dig their set up but never even heard of Greek Peak. Theres another thread showing that they are having some $$$ problems.

Greek Peak has a terrible park, not even worth going to.  Greek Peak can be fun on a pow day...there's some cliffs and good tree skiing if theres enough snow.  That being said, the mountain is tiny and the lifts are really slow.

Togg has a pretty legit park for CNY but its generally really icy and sketchy.  They have some decent sized jumps but they're very, very sketchy.

They have a few good rails but its often really icy and some of the jumps on had really bad lips.  A lot of the features are rails and are about the height of hand rails or bigger.

Best part about Togg is that they have day passes for $15 if your a college student.

I've never been to Lab but it looks pretty sweet.  I definitely plan on trying it out this season.
