sound problem

my sound doesnt work on my computer, i donno if its the speakers or not, but it just shut off a few days ago. the speakers are on and hooked up (and turned up), and the computer is not on mute or anything like that, what could be the problem?

possibly bad soundcard or corrupt drivers.

well getting a virus can corrupt your drivers or just a hard drive write-error. And for a soundcard to go bad its jsut like anything else it just goes bad it doesnt take a certain amount of time for it to happen

that happened to me a while ago, i just took it to the computer store and they put the drivers back on it and it was fine

and it didn't happen to me because of a virus,
the sound drivers got deleted when I installed the drivers for a printer or something, so if you got any kinda new accessories where you had to install drivers, make sure the sound ones are still there

right click my computer, then click proporties, then click hardware, then divice manager. then find you sound card. if there is a yellow ! mark next to it, theres something wrong. then do what the instuctions say in the box.
