I was limmited in time, gear and patience, so I decided to concentrate on the emotion of the skater. Created a little story with what I have and mixed in some emotions and vibe.
Tell me what you think!
Also feel free to like Mat Rich Media on facebook, to see more stuff Im working on!
Actualy more complex, it involves color contrast, film grain, levels, shoulders, sharpening... More that i forgot but is all custome with magic bullet looks. If you dont have it, get it.
^ agree with you there, I felt the colors fit especially well with the guy smoking...skating was meh, filming was dope, and again, i felt the colors captured the guy smoking really well for some reason
i particularly love this color style when done right, and this was done right. definitely helps set the vibe. very nicely done on the filming/editing side of things
didnt notice the shadow untill u said that, I was gunna say there was too much ground in the shot, but since u were going for shadows maybe try to frame the shadow tighter? just my opinion
Was that shot at 1080 (24/30) or 720? and how did you get that size? Is that just a quick crop in premiere or something? Sorry for the newb questions... I am new to filming...
It was shot 720/ 60p, conformed to 24p in cinema tools. Cropped to a 2:35:1 aspect ratio. Its a cinema format. Its edited with guides in fcp and then cropped during export.
i know this is about the artistic side of things than the skateboarding but seriously you used a boardslide to fakie as your ender and a fakie boardslide to manny to revert as your middle trick. that is some wack order. also shoulder height followcams look heinous for skateboarding.
