CoreUPT filed for bankruptcy

French website Skipass.com recently announced that Tignes-based ski company CoreUPT got filed for bankruptcy.
More news should come about that in the evening

Bummer...Sucks for all the talent they just recently acquired. Guys like Roland will be fine, but some of the smaller guys might have some tough times finding yet another sponsor.

I wasn't a huge fan of their skis, they had very little margine for error on tricks, you basically had to stomp everything perfect or you'd catch and fall over...however, when you did put a trick down with them they felt quite boss.

Please explain to me on a build scale how it's easier to land on pair of lines VS Coreupt's (which presumably you ride)

If you're talking about stiffness of their typical park ski I would agree but same can also be said that stiffer skis have more stability so one could argue either way.

I'm not understanding your comment whatsoever.

Cheddar's on Amplid now, Dale moved to Coreupt last season, he'll probably be fine (especially after now having backing by Nike), but he's still fairly small.


As far as landing on them, I don't know, they just felt like you had to be perfect. They're pretty stiff and have a LOT of camber, so if you're off just a bit the edge digs hard and sends you either into a carve which sometimes ends in a wash-out or it just slingshots you into the ground. I rode my friends a bit and just never felt comfortable learning new tricks on them (he said it was hard for him too, he just had to get used to knowing he might get worked if he didn't land it almost perfectly).

coreupt wasn't paying much out to athletes...

their contracts were largely written based off pro model sales that were damn near impossible for any athlete to hit

try selling 3000 pairs of a single pro model park ski... it isn't that easy, especially when you look at how diluted their park skis are with THAT many models

the writing was on the wall... or the ads in the background of NS anyhow.

I much prefer buying skis from a company that prides itself on product first and image later. plus there were way too many hands in the pot on this deal from day one.

I feel worst for anyone this company owes money to, especially their materials suppliers. that is who really looses in bankruptcy.
