no. Their 1st year of production in 09/10 was as cool as FD was going to get. And actually had a unique design at the time. Now I feel like I've seen the same pants for 4 years straight.

Hahaha so true. Some are much better than others, but in general "freeski" brands tend to look like someone vomitted kaleidoscope rainbow all over the place.

I perfer to stick with the more traditional outdoor brands which feature normal people things.

Everyone in here hates on FD yet enough of you still buy it to allow them to buy custom paint jobs for cars and do tons of other shit. Either that or they've been kept afloat by some serious capital for the past four years.

Just to throw this into the mix... the pics on Facebook are just to see what people are feeling for the brighter, 2 tone colorways. We'll of course have lots of solid (1-color) colorways like we have the last few years. We'll also be letting people customize their suits (as usual) so people can make them as simple or busy as they want. PLUS, we'll be producing another production run of our V3 stuff which will match our V4 stuff to give people tons of options for mixing and matching, whether you like your stuff plain or bright.

No way you can say that, FD puts out the same ugly suit every year, that defines consistent.

Armada makes some ugly ass outerwear, but they get it right just as often as they get it wrong.

I actually didn't mind the all black one you had one your facebook. Not that I like all black, its just you didn't have all the janky lines that make no sense that you have with a lot of the color combos.

Like with armada and saga, they each have a simplicity to it. Doesn't look like, "Oh lets just take this into photoshop and rotate it some random amount of degrees for the back vent"

Some of your stuff isn't really that bad. But in my opinion its too busy for my taste. Just colors everywhere. It's just like your trying to break the damn thing into the 2 colors as much as you can.

Now to the overall design of the outerwear, you can't really go horribly wrong with it and it takes time to get things perfect. Looks like this year you fixed the weird ass slanted pockets that many didn't like which gives me some hope that you actually are listening to your userbase.

Lastly Quality, which is the most important part of producing outerwear in my opinion. You can dress up dog shit all you want but in the end its still dog shit. When I buy Armada or Saga. Softgoods or outerwear i have had no problems, and have loved the quality so I keep buying from them simple as that. I've seen and witnessed too many of my friends that have bought first drop products which have had various problems. Mainly with the quality of the stitching and the quality of the fabric. If you guys worked on this, and had bombproof outerwear things would be better. Stitching problems are not something you want in hundreds of dollar suits of outerwear that is going to be keeping you dry and warm everyday you go shredding which for most of us is quite a bit.

I'm not even going to touch on your guys image because that wasn't what made me not want to support first drop in the first place. it was strictly quality. whether it be the quality of your designs or the quality of the outerwear itself.

I can definately say that, armada's outerwear has consistently been ugly as fuck. when i first heard the were making outerwear a few years back i was stoked! but each year i've seen their new gear, and its fugly! good quality, but fugly as fuck. sure they get one or two pieces each year thats wearable, but in general, its gross. armada should stick with skis, or hire a better designer.

You clearly haven't look at, inspected, or tested this past season's FD outerwear. I feel as if you're just again blindly hating on a product that you have little knowledge on personally.

I had a FD suit (red/blue jacket, black pants) for this entire season, and I don't have a single complaint. There's not a single loose stitch, not a single tear in the material, all the zippers are still in perfect working order. The waterproofing was on par with any other outerwear brand I have previously owned (Planet Earth, Sessions, 686, Burton, Airblaster). I had some of the wettest days I have ever been in this season, including a super heavy day in Big Sky, and the entire last week at Brighton of rain/snow mix. Never once did I get water inside my suit.

You've been an outspoken critic of FD since day one and I, as I'm sure many other members, are getting pretty tired of your long-winded rants saying the exact same thing over and over.

i think everything but the mcdonalds suit is looking good. red/ purple, blue/ grey, black/ grey and purple/ black are all colorways that i could see looking really dope if they tweaked them a bit

i don't understand why they don't try and keep their designs more simple. i really liked the initial release that first year they started making outerwear, some of the pro models were sick. the designs just don't do it for me. too many lines.

a lot of these look much better than years past. of course theres still a few that look like anal but they have definitely improved and if the quality is better they could potentially sell a lot of these

Unbelievable, same color patterns, same design for two years.
I dont own any first drop and so I cant say anything about your quality, but come on, if your outerwear its suppose to be shit then step up your designs at least.
Your designs look like you are mixing the color palette from ms paint.

Why don't you change your pant design?? I swear they have looked almost the same with the same pocket placement and color stripe that goes across the leg. Sure there have been little changes each year but It is honestly hard to notice a difference. I mean it is not my company ad blah blah blah but from a buyers perspective it would be nice to see a fresh design.
Im sure NS and most of the freeski population would agree.

my 2 cents.


while the colorways are super super vivid in almost every production line FD has had, some of them do look quite sick. the pants themselves look sick this year, and i would pick up a pair if i had not have previous negative experiences with FD.

for me, the colors don't matter. it's the quality, as well as the fit. after buying a suit two years ago i quickly switched to saga and have enjoyed my saga outerwear much more than my fd outerwear. my FD stuff did not last long at all, and i've taken equally as many crashes in my saga with no rips at all. my FD stuff was very comfortable and warm, but also fit too wide (especially the pants).

that's all i have to say.

important note, they are re - producing last years outerwear, it was such a hit that all the shit they didnt sell will be re made (sit on the shelves all summer) for your color mixing pleasure.

I've loved my blue and yellow first drop hoodie that I got for 30 bucks. I would never wear it when it's cold or snowy but it gets the job done in the steeze department on spring park days haha

I find it incredibly funny that people continue to hate on FD, and over and over tell them to stop making outerwear, or that they suck at what they're doing. If FD actually listed to these people, where would they be right now?

^^the black and grey are fresh. everything else is wack. saga looks better because of symmetry. the odd random zippers on back of FD for eg. look fucked. purpose. stupid. most of this years saga stuff is shit. except for camo pants. they are fly as fuck. armada are actually pretty cool. the space shit looks cool. dunno where i am taking this but that is my 2cents right there. poice

If they listened to people who is actually giving an honest review about their outerwear, they would be improving the quality and making new fresh designs, that means they would be making a lot more money.

So what you are basically saying is, "Oh we did well the first year lets stick to the same stuff and dont give a fuck about what the costumers have to say"
