im not surprised at all. when i drive high i feel like i am a much safer driver and tend to be less aggressive i feel. but I am aware that some people are effected differently by the ganja.

i find this video true for myself, but not everyone. Ive switched drivers many times because i felt the other person wasnt a good high driver. ell my amigos agree im one of tthe better ones, and now they elect me to drive 90% of the time. you just gotta be safe when you try it out so you know if your good at it or not

i have a friend thats a really good driver when hes stoned, he always drives back from parties or whatever and hes not stupid so not gonna drink n drive, but smoke and drive hes always been pretty good at

i have never run into problems being to stoned while driving, or with my friends driving. this girl in my debate class last year said she got to stoned to drive after eating an edible and had to pull over. how ever i think it depends on the person and how much the smoke. being in a car with someone who is driving drunk is so nerve racking and complete different story, i am not a fan of being a passenger of a driver who is drunk.

The test wasn't done well enough. If he's a regular user, his tolerance is built up, and he's able to handle it better. They should of put a non regular user in the test too to see how they did.

With driving high, it has it's limits, people need to know where to draw them.
I've driven high plenty of times before, from just after one bowl, to a few. It has always varied. You can be calm and aware (pretty much sober), or you can be really high. I've been both, I've driven like normal (or better), and I've had times where I realised my high beams were on for 5 minutes while driving through downtown. I've always been so done, that I've completely passed on driving at all, just said "no, this can't be done".

I'm no kid, I know how being impaired is, you have to be able to judge yourself. I've driven after a few drinks before, and same goes with bowls, I feel guilty inside, seeing as I know I shouldn't have (more so for smoking and driving), but I'm cautious, and not over cautious.
I don't smoke anymore, and I rarely drive.

From experience, I'd say don't do it, even if you're a better driver, the risk isn't worth it. Have a buddy drive (I've had people drive my car after me smoking, and just even today; I drove my room mates drunk ass home in his car).

If you think I'm wrong, good for you. People say drive sober for a reason. Marijuana might not kil, but the users might be stupid enough to have there mind slip for one second, and then it's all over.

yea didnt watch,  but when I drive I tend to be more cautious and shit.  like I drive the speed limit which I never do when sober.  huh,  driving stoned = safer???  lol

so true i have been in the passengers seat many times where i have thought i wouldn't be able to dive, i would have liked them to to do another test after 3 spliffs or what ever. or see how much it would take for him to be impaired.

Ive talked about this with my friends a ton, we all agreed that there are certain people you trust with your life when driving stoned, and those people know they have your life in their hands.I dont usually like being driven by someone who ive never smoked with before because I dont have enough experience with them. i dont know, makes sense

Meh, I'd rather be safe than sorry. Like I said, I've driven home after a few drinks, and the same goes with after a few bowls, nothing wrong, and no noticeable impairity. I also know my limit, so if I think I'm going to be at any risk, I'm not going to drive, if that makes me a vagina, oh well.

Yup that's what happens to me. I call that effect where you become more cautious after smoking "10-and-2 high." In reality though, cops where I'm from won't even try to give you a DUI for weed because they already know this, plus its damn near impossible to prove in court.

This is because you don't actually need real depth perception to perceive depth as long as you have reference objects of known size (cars, signs, etc) that your brain can use to approximate distance with.

I hate to be that guy that says "oh weed makes me a better driver." but in all seriousness, it makes me focus 100% on the road and not my radio, what my friends are doing in the back seat, ect.. in a way it actually does make me a better driver.

Just don't do it, I would be willing to bet 90% of the people who claim to be fine at driving stoned are probably not as good as they claim to be. You can do all the drugs you want and you will only be hurting yourself, but driving stoned/drunk is just stupid and can ruin someone else's life.

driving sober is a good way to get from point a to point b. driving baked is a good way to enjoy driving. driving drunk or tripping balls can be buttloads of totally irresponsible and extremely dangerous fun. that's all i have to say about that.

I don't see how there is THAT much of a difference, both impair driving skills. I don't really care if you kids feel "calmer" driving stoned, if you can't handle the pressure of driving then you shouldn't be behind a wheel ever IMO.

there is a major difference.

I can promise you I would have more control behind the wheel being as high as possible than I would after a couple brews.

the only time i can see smoking taking an effect even close to drinking when behind the wheel would be if:
A. the driver doesn't smoke/first time/doesnt know what they are doing
B. the driver is distracted trying to light a bowl/piece while driving


I hope my comments dont make me come off as an irresponsible douche. Cause I do take drunk driving very seriously.

i hate driving stoned. i don't have an issue driving safely it just stresses me out and kills my buzz. i don't find it impairs my driving at all, maybe my reaction time, but in general it just causes me to feel shakier and like i need to concentrate more
