"Code Red" Full Movie - Surfing Goes Huge At Teahupoo Tahiti
the fact that so many things aligned to make this 15 minutes video of beautiful insanity is what blows me away. a lot of times when freak things happen like this, you dont have a nice camera, or a battery dies, or something happens and it ends up as just another story someone told about an epic swell, and not a documentary.
The one guy being interviewed said he tracked it for a while though so they kinda knew it was coming. and it was during the Billabong pro event so the cameras were there well before
The waves are always huge. I think the asp contest there is coming up again. Find the highlights from the last world tour contest there. The waves were so big they canceled the heats for a day and did a tow in session.
What is the chance of dying on waves like that? I feel like every time I look at something like that I automatically try to compare it to some of the big mountain lines where its pretty much auto death if you fall
Not that high. I mean, on a day like that it could deffinetly happen, but its not too common. The real danger is the reef. The water right where the wave breaks is about 3-4 feet deep, and it is over razor sharp coral
