I usually agree with you, but in all honesty, did we watch the same movie ? Animal Mother's charge during the sniper scene was awe inspiring.

Rescue Dawn Enemy at the Gate Kelly's Heros Blackhawks Down restrepo (documentary) Hunt for Red October Run Silent Run Deep Tora Tora Tora Siege of Fire Base Gloria Clear and Present Danger FMJ Act of Valor was interesting. Tons more I can't think of off top of my head. Some of these are repeats but favorites of mine. I love war movies. Need to step up my WWII collection.

but only a few references to the "Great Escape"? you guys need to watch some classics.

how about "Guns of Navarone" "Battle of the Bulge" or how about "The longest day" Sean Connery and John Wayne IN THE SAME MOVIE?

or another great one "the dirty dozen"

very good film

for me i'd say top five are:

apocalypse now

deer hunter

saving private ryan

platoon

full metal jacket.

i really need to watch restrepo and hurt locker. also, this isn't a movie but a series, but has anyone seen it?

it's only 7 episodes long but it's easily one of the best series' ever IMO, and was made by the people who made the wire
