There are no rules because your in a tree stand I'm in a tree stand. Just took the most free pee of my life from about 20 feet up. Masterbation in the woods is a maybe as of now. Plus if your using a bugle/call... thats a whole nother skill entirely. But I always preferred hiking around, find spot that looks promising then calling for a while, then either getting lucky or moving on and repeating

This. I remember hunting elk with my brother 2 years ago and we were on a eidge using a cow call and got a nice bull to come in. My bro got a great shot and it was a fun year. The walking and stalking approach is a lot more effective on the rifle hunt whereas treestands and blinds are more effective on the archery hunt imo.
