Lol at retards like you who make ignorant ass comments.
How is using a treestand not real hunting? Whats wrong with waiting for your prey to come to you? It's not as simple as sitting in a treestand. You have to be there at least an hour before the sun comes up and while your waiting you have to be invisible, silent, as well as scentless to any animal. The feeling of watching an area come to life as the sun rises is one that only others who have experienced can relate with. It's not like hiking where you're moving constantly. You watch a single area start to awaken with the sun and bugs, small animals, and hopefully big animals start to come out and do what they do best every day and you get to watch this happen for hours at a time as long as you don't make your presence known.
Hopefully, your patience can be rewarded and you get a deer, elk, turkey, goat, etc to walk in on you. The thing about tree stands is that you are usually within 50 yards when you make your shot. At this distance, your scent and silence are key factors to securing a kill. None of these matter when making a 300 yard shot across a ravine to kill a deer. You have to time all of your movements based on the movements of the animal. Any wrong move and they will see you and you won't see anything for hours after.
Please don't post ignorant comments like that just to feel like you know shit about something you obviously don't anything about.
And to the OP, I'll be in my tree stand come August when the archery deer season starts.
Here's a pic of the bear a shot last year from a tree stand about 65 yards away.
