Coatings, why? 11-16 flare is amazing for video, we all know this, for photo it really doesn't matter and an extra coating really won't make a difference.
Auto-focus, useless for video and for photo auto focus speed doesn't really matter because at 11mm your either shooting action where you pre-focus or landscapes where speed is the last thing you need to worry about. Also at like f4 at 11mm everything is in focus anyways. And wouldn't the old version focus on some nikon bodies that have the motor? I'm not a nikon shooter but I know that there are certain lenses that only auto-focus on more expensive bodies.
For Canon and video shooters this is a pointless upgrade, only plus side is that the old version will be cheaper.
Because flare (amongst other characteristics) are technically flaws despite being aesthetically pleasing to many people. They are essentially pushing for more optical "accuracy," though sometimes I feel this is counterintuitive. Over-accuracy in optics makes a bland image, imo. It's the very reason I don't like Canon L glass.
