waterproofing

i dont really know what it means but is 5,000mm, 5,000g good enough? i ride in the northwest so the snow isnt the driest.

If it's not sunny outside, or if you sit in the snow, you will be wet. I ski in Tahoe and only go with at least 10,000. I've skied in rain before, and never gotten wet.

I'd wear it for a spring jacket if it was cheap and cool looking, but I'd never want anything below 10,000mm for my regular jacket. Both of mine are 30,000. Also, 5000g isn't much by way of breathability tradeoff... usually less waterproof jackets are more breathable than that. Still, it doesn't exactly suck. It's just not great.

what u fools talkin about i have a 5000mm jacket and it rains all the time(to my dismay) at my local mt and i never got wet. and my jacket repelled that water like nobodies buisness. infact my 10000mm pants would alway get way more wet than my jacket. but mabey thats just the cuz o da companies. (M6 jacket, bonfire pants)

That's actually pretty decent for a puffy. I haven't seen any with too much more waterproofing.

you can stil water-proof a puffy, you just have to use the down Nik-Wax as opposed to the normal Nik-Wax its really good stuff

^ Oops... Kinetic jacket series by Bonfire is one of the best out there. Might want to rethink that.
