HAHAHA! Classic.
Problem with skiing/snowboard and winter sports filming, seems a lot of people want to compare with something they've enjoyed in the past. Only the truly creative, pioneering and original artists and brains can think ahead and do something different, and when it's done, it is rarely received by people stuck in their bubble of previous enjoyment. PBP still make good films as do many others. It's a tough industry for riders and filmers. budgets, snow conditions, time!
AoF was an elaborate and amped up version of That's it That's all. And they were both the template for current day films. Ground breaking and fantastic films in their own right.
Sure this trailer, and after all it is just a trailer and not the final product, is groundbreaking and beyond comparison. It should not be compared. It has simply set a new tone for the ski world and one which shows it in a beautiful, creative way and communicates what the people involved in it are, perfectly. This would wreak if Tanner was in it. It doesn't represent who he is. I think this represents Candide and what he stands for and will hopefully inspire yet another new generation of riders if the film lives up to it. It is a work of art and has set a new level and bar for not just the film makers, but for the riders themselves to be challenged to become more immersed in their own riding and ideas of what they want to say about themselves and how they create their own identity, rather than follow a style of so many others around them. Can't wait for the film and think will be an all timer!
btw.. quote from "crawley" on page one with wheel of fortune winning is pure gold!
