Okay NS, so ive got about 10,000 bucks for a car. i know its not a lot but it def can get me something good.

i go to school in Florida but 4 wheel drive might be nice to have because i do live in Connecticut.

other than that NS...throw me some sweet whips i could get

Ebay motors, honestly you can get cars for half the price they would be by the dealer and not only that it is actually a very safe and reliable way to go if you follow some basic steps, check feedback, ask questions, and shop around. You can actually get your hands on all sorts of great cars for 10,000. And if you go to school in florida then i suggest looking there because the body shape will be awesome due to they dont drive around in salt and snow. EBAY MOTORS FOR THE WIN

Yeah, I know you can get them in good shape for under 10k, it just takes a lot of looking.
Sorry it wasn't a very good recommendation, I forget a lot of the time that people can't do a lot of the work on cars themselves so I forget how much labor costs when you have to hire some one to do it. Personally, I own an engine lift and can pull engines if I needed too, which would save me a lot of repair costs. Plus I'm friends with a couple mechanics and one of them has a car lift at his home garage and I always throw my cars up there to work on them, so for my personal situation, cost of maintenance isn't too bad. I didn't really think it through though when I recommended it, he would probably want something as reliable as he could get.
Everyone on NS loves subaru's so you could always go with a subaru. I mean, honestly just get something good on gas, and reliable. Get something cheap and just save whatever extra money you have.

mazda 3 or rx-7 not awesome in snow, but there fwd cars are good in the winter, or atleast my moms car was, rx7 would be really fun though

you don't need a 4wd car. i live in vermont on an icy dirt hill and i drive a front wheel drive car and it works fine 360 days out of the year. this year was one of the iciest ever so i took the truck with studded snow tires 5 days that were too bad, but other than that if you put snow tires on a 2wd car it's gonna get you through pretty much anything. plus that'll be a lot cheaper, however for 10 grand you can get yourself a nice old subaru on craigslist that'll last a while

thanks guys. i go to school in Tampa at the University of Tampa. im really diggin A4, mk2 gti, and the wrx.i know repairs are gunna be tougher for that, but im gunna be covered by my parents on that.

ive basically all my life wanted to drive a golf or some version of that. and thatd be prettyyy dope to be able to fulfill that

what are you looking to spend in maintenance each year and insurance? because that will factor in for sure in your decision.


I woud say get a B6 (2002-2005) A4 1.8t avant manual. You can probably find a clean one for under 10K.

Cars and fuel are stupid cheap in America. I'm jealous.

Florida to CT is a very long drive, right? Maybe something comfortable that can cover miles like nothing. Volvos do that. Most of them at least.
