1. I can still push a board. I pushed a Vugenhausen 8 miles around Mackicincac Island. The way you push makes no difference once you get used to it.
2. You are correct, the only Tan Tien I've ridden was first generation and it had very little concave,
4. I just like kickes that lock you in better for manuals. The kicks on the Tan Tien just feel super easy to slip out of

It totally does though if you are complaining about it being mushy. if you push mongo your foot is gonna be closer to the center of the board and more of your energy will go into flexing it. It's basically like the opposite reason back foot first is better in skimboarding. just more efficient. I actually push mongo sometimes just to practice for skimboarding.
Also I'm pretty sure I have a first generation tan tein and it has lots of concave still. combined with the stock grip my foot will never slip. The only other loaded board I have ridden was my buddys vanguard and another buddys fish. they both had way more flex and basically no concave compared to mine.
I dunno though the board i had before was a sector 9 from like 8 years ago so maybe I just don't know what a good board is really like. Not that I haven't ridden many boards but it takes me a long time to get used to a board and when I do I really like it.

When I push Mongo 99% of the time my foot on deck is in the center of the deck or if I'm in an area where I am pushing a lot I actually put my back foot where my front goes and ride switch.
