I understand where you're coming from. I respect the Wu, they were one of the first heavy hitters of the 90's. I fuck with mobb deep, wu tang clan, notorious big, tupac, big l, eazy e, dr dre, snoop dogg (from doggystyle) mf doom, nas, and AZ
I doubt you've listened to all songs related to the Wu Fam. RZA and GFK have over 200 songs combined on solo projects and that's just two members. You still have GZA, Raekwon, Inspectah Deck, Method Man, U-God, Masta Killa and all of the affiliates. Every single one of them was unbelievable at rapping and I would say they had the biggest impact on the genre hands down. Saying you don't like Wu Tang is like saying you don't like hip hop.
I am not saying they are THE most influential group of all time but they without a doubt changed the game. 36 Chambers is still to this day one of the all time greatest hip hop albums of all time. And thats saying a lot considering the year that it came out, that was the golden age.
its not about how much you listen to them or how loud you bump the Wu, its about feeling the realness, and those who cannot feel it i pity you. For you will forever be stuck in squaresville and unable to see the world for what it really is, only through others that youre constantly trying to be. As Martin Heidegger would say, you are unauthentic, skip to 5:20 if you need to hear it
back a couple years ago when I thought I was g-thug I downloaded the entire wu-tang discography from pirate bay. Needless to say there was 8GB of space on my hard drive that never got used for a month... there's a couple songs I like but most of it is dumb /subjective opinion
I actually really really like Wu-Tang. I have a lot of their songs in my phone, and they're featured in almost every playlist. Perfect work-out music too.
I apologize for not mentioning ODB, I am truly embarrassed. Although, I've always liked U-God better, Pleasure or Pain might be one of my favorite songs ever.
