How to make custom icons

So I was looking at an old thread on newschoolers and I noticed lots of people had custom icons like the one I have right now. I don't plan on keeping this one because it feels dumb just taking some else's, but can one of the older NS members tell me if there is a template for these or something? I wanna make a cool one

okay this is just weird, I guess newschoolers doesn't allow the heart symbol??
