Yo, you can go enter the race if you want. It's hard because you're going hella fast, and this isn't some nicely groomed race course, its a track set up in bumfuck nowhere. The course is all cut up by snowmachine tracks, and when you're going uphill, you're really at the mercy of the person who is towing you.
You're probably right, any skier with good muscle tone, good equipment, and good technique could probably complete this race. But do you have the muscle tone to get pulled uphill at 86 mph for over 2 miles?
By your argument, running a marathon should be easy because everyone knows how to run.
