depends on which version you watch. the original version its really difficult to tell but most people think it was han. in the refurbished version the scene was modified to make it clear that greedo fires the first shot to make Han seem more likable.

in the original version i am pretty sure han shoots first but that is only because he knows what greedo is going to do. i dont see how making greedo shoot first would change how people feel about han. i think it was pretty clear that han shot out of self defense

i guess han could have just taken irresponsibility for having un-payed debts and gone with greedo to jabba. but even if he did that greedo probably would have killed him anyways since the bounty was dead or alive.

but i just looked it up and apparently george lucas claimed that greedo always shot first. given that lucas is certifiably insane, and having personally watched that scene in both versions over and over and over again i still think han shot first in the original. not that i blame him.

i dont think there is anything wrong with the fact that he killed greedo. for sure greedo would have taken him to jabba dead or alive so i dont think han had any other choice.

so it doesnt really matter who shot first han would have had to kill greedo either way

google "han shot first" theres a bunch of hardcore star wars nerd articles about how lame it is that they changed it. true die hards apparently think the greedo first versions are lame as fuck
