Hey so i have a nikon d300s and it kicks ass for photography but i am looking for more on the video side.... (lack of any fps besides 24... and only 720) so i am selling my vixi a and nikon d80 to hopefully eventually get a canon t2i but i don't want to buy a whole new collection of lenses and i have heard a lot about converters but i am a little considered because a lot of people complain about not being able to get them off their lenses. so does anyone have anything to say about a way that i can use my nikon lenses on my canon but be able to easily switch them back and forth because i plan on using the 2 cameras equally. thanks +k
you can buy nikon F -> canon EOS converters on ebay or amazon for ~$10. from what i have heard fotodiox makes good ones.
the only real downside is loss of AF which doesnt matter for video, and you can even buy adapters with chips in them that beep when the image is in focus.
Get a lumix and use your nikon lenses with it. It's way easier to adapt a nikon lens to a gh2 than a nikon lens to anything canon. Not to mention that gh2's have insanely good video quality once hacked
Speculation is that it will have the same video capabilities as the D800 and D4, but possibly without HDMI out. Pricing will probably be 500-600 based on the current trends.
Yeah, a ton of people on hear are hopping on the m4/3's train, you can also take advantage of dirt cheap canon FD L's and if your willing to sell bodily parts some Leica M glass.
Sorry to bring thread back but now that I'm getting close on the decision for my b cam I want to confirm that my lenses can be switched to canon with the adapter
I have a tamron 17-50 and a tamron 70-200 would those be fine w/ the fotodiox pro. Converter?
it's a bitch to use F mount lenses on a canon when they have no aperture ring. you should wait until there's some solid footage up from the d3200, it looks pretty promising and you wouldn't have to convert anything.
I've already heard that theres a lot of bugs but I'm still gonna wait a lil bit and see if its any good and what happens if theres no aperture ring? can you not change the aperture?
when there's no aperture ring you have to buy a very expensive adapter that has its own aperture ring so you can control it, but, but you're guessing which aperture you're using.
