I'm 6' tall and my waist is 33". The XL's waist is 38.5, is that way to big?

you'll need a belt or suspenders just like with most pants, but the waist is adjustable

I'm 6'1 with a 34 inch waist and mine are size large and they fit perfect. XL will be baggy. Your choice.

i have both and the leg is still nice and slim on the xls but the waist is considerably bigger
