Quoting individual lines for clarity
"my leaders 'believe' that the time to give blacks equality had to. maybe not co-live with society, but ease its way in to society as to not be having mormon members killed along with blacks, call it cowardly, but the church is only trying to maintain piece."
It is cowardly. Which is probably excusable for individuals, but for an organization which claims to know the will of god to not fight against what they "know" is wrong is pretty pathetic. Whats the point of divine moral knowledge if you're just going to go with the flow of society anyway? Nothing. Plus, you spelled peace wrong.
"The church has many black members if we were racist but even for awhile why would they join knowing that?"
Because they're stupid and brainwashed, just like the white members. There are gay muslims too.
"Please just understand that we are good people, trying to do what we see as right."
Some of you are, some of you aren't, just like any large organization of people. Individual mormons can be awesome people, but that doesn't say anything about the organization's morality, much less the validity of your religious claims.
"Also they were not kicked out, they were prosecuted and murdered until they decided to leave for Utah and even though they where seen as crazy cult members, they never wen't against the laws of society."
They're not blameless parties here. The prosecution against the mormons at the time was wrong, but the mormons were a militarized cult at that point and it made the non mormon population pretty nervous. Mormon history is fraught with persecution and murder both by and against them. BTW, the morrill anti bigamy act was passed in 1862, but the mormon church did not formally disavow the practice until 1890 (and continued the practice in secret for some years after).
