So the project fundraiser thing ended... i think. but jib life said that they would still give it to people who backed it. i didn't back it but did anyone get the game. and is jib life going to sell it
I won't get into how it went from beta demo before new years to a kickstarter campaign a few months later, but what I am confused about is how they will give out the game/in game items. part of the reason I didn't donate is because I saw that it was going to fail, and they don't get the money if it fails, so we also wouldn't get the demo and perks. Hopefully something can work out, it looks like it could be really cool
Game is playable, however maps are not very large
Ben is still working out glitches, etc...- it is not ready for a consumer release, would you guys rather have a glitchy unfinished product- more along the lines of a revamped jibbin, or a pimpass slick sexy super awesome cool flossy game...
You guys have to realize that Jib Life is a one man operation. Ben will make this happen, he doesn't even sleep anymore he just works on the game.
is it going to be the full game we buy or that the more you pay the more you get shit and how come the vids don't look glitchy like the COC map it looks smooth he should just release a free online demo of that
he has a workable playground- the coc map. Ben wants this thing perfect when it drops, not just a 2 feature style setup, full park runs. I don't know what he plans to do regarding DLC, i hope that he doesn't decide to do that, and gives free upgrades to new maps, etc...
One thing that is holding Jib Life back is sponsors. Developing a game takes time, and a lot of cash. COC has been ill enough to back ben, he is reaching out to more companies to help get this game on its feet--> He's now got Outdoor Tech, and COC behind it, he needs more backers to get this game really off and running.
I think they should've set a lower goal on their kickstarter, 30k is a LOT of cash
building a game takes a lot of time that's for sure but that doesn't
necessarily mean it costs more. It looks like they've been outsourcing.
You can tell because the graphics and everything look like they were
made by a complete gaper.
COC was fed the same bullshit we all were but they were stupid enough to actually pay.
I just saw that you joined in 07. It's admirable that you've believed in this shit for so long. You must still believe in santa.
what happened to his team with 30 years industry experience? what happened to all the past sponsors the game had 4 years ago? 6 years ago? jib talks a big game but it's just not gonna happen, hope that dude held onto a day job cause making games isn't for him.
The last good callout thread about Jib Life was deleted... I wonder why? Maybe it was because they started calling everyone that supported them haters, or the community that wanted to see the game come into fruition haters for not being able to pledge.
They did not understand that the majority of their FB/Twitter followers are either people who have looked at their project for years on end without any more than pretty laughable results, and those who have signed up for a skiing game but are too young to actually own a credit card!
The marketing was so fucking awful, and it has been from Day One. Some people like LJ have sais that they have received a copy of the game, it's great, give them some slack etc.
WHY... NOT... RELEASE... A DEMO!?
If you are going to give the COC level which you promised to have ready at the time of your Kickstarter going through in any case for each and every backer... where is it? Where are the physics? Why were there placeholder graphics?
Sure, it's easy to criticize from the sidelines, but pretty much every thing going on with Jib Life is just god-awful business and marketing behavior.
If you have a level finished enough to give to your plausible pledgees and supporters, then fucking put out a demo and a PayPal account to support the game if it's so important. The gameplay, at least some actual fricking gameplay without any NDAs, vouching for honest opinions could seal the deal for your product! You can still make it, even in your so-called Alpha-base after all these years!
Make a demo, or you will probably regret everything up to this point.
This is a horrible mistake, NS would be gobbling their cock if they dropped a demo with even one rail you could session. Plus, it would squash all this drama about how they have spent years and years with literally nothing to show for it. I mean as far as I can tell they have a domain name with a front page, a one minute CGI video, and about fifty thousand people that rightfully think they are completely worthless.
Thank God for some extra clarity and support against Jib Life.
They don't understand, or the one guy they say it suddenly is, that be what it may , the game industry has changed, their bullshit on thinking about a KS program BEFORE Double Fine had their breakthrough is and was proper BULLSHIT!
So manu people are ready to put down some dough for JL, if they had something as simple as a demo to work on.
Tell us, Jib Life - you release "a trailer" that shows rails and jumps. After that, you release a KS that shows material nothing like that! A poor, shitty hill with a few rail and a pretty bad looking physics... Again, why do you say that the physics weren't there, or that the graphics were placeholder?
Seriously!
Get your fucking act together, be it just you, BEN, or more people in the crew.
