Anyone else set up tracks like this in Ableton live?

What I do is I put each sample and loop in it's own spot in Live's session view, so I can play it live with the APC. When it's ready, I'll record it as I trigger the samples. I know a lot of electronic musicians put their tracks together in linear format, so I was wondering if anyone else uses this method.

I REALLY like this feature of ableton. Its fucking amazing, and Logic's workflow is so much slower because of it. At some point I'm going to do final mixes in ableton, just produce all my stems in logic, bounce em and use ableton to kind of jam it out (which is what Datsik is doing right now I believe, at least for live stuff).

i have definitely used that technique in the past, however right now most of the shit i am doing unless live of course is in arrangement view. I am still trying to learn as much as i can about the waves plugins and get a better handle on my synths so i've put songwriting on hold for the moment.

but yes, the ease of switching between session view and arrangement is definitely where ableton holds most of its power and separates itself from other DAWs.
