Abstinence Plus, sex ed.

Okay I'm a going to vote Republican in November but the one issue that I think the Dems have a way better opinion is with the abstinence plus sex ed program. If your not famiar I will explain. The republican ideology says that abstinence and only abstinence should be toaught to kids in abstinence but that safe sex alternatives should also be taught.. I think this is a much better idea since like 80% of kids have sex before they finish highschool. I just makes way more sense for kids to know how to prevent getting regnant or getting STD's than to just leave them in the dark because of some religious ideas. Like with Birthcontrol girls get on it but they are never told all the things that can screw it up. Like if you have stomach flu the hormones won't get into your system when yo utake the pill and you can get pregnant. Also like how many days you have to wait before you can have sex again after taking the pill late or missing a day. I has been shown that kids who learn about this stuff in school are less likely to get pregnant or get an STD. Also people who refrain from sex until marraige actually have higher rate of pregnancy and STD's because they aren't as well educated. So what do you all think/

I hear that! Only way to truly learn is through experience. There should be a class in high school that deals specifically with this shit because they don't stress it enough and mad pregnancies and std's run about. there is so much that i still don't even know and that scares me once in awhile.

my mom plucks my ball hair at night when im sleeping and glues them to her eyesbrows cuz she had a terrible camping incident when she was younger and her eyebrows never grew back, shes been doing this since i was 13 im gonna have to start chargin that fat bitch for my hair

Yeah that's because they have to get a blood test to get a marraige license. But since they haven't had do deal with condoms and that kind of stuff in past realationships they are more likely to screw things up. They break the condoms or fuck up their birth control because they've never used it before. And since their churchy friends haven't either they don't have knowledge on the use coming from friends and stuff. You learn a lot from your friends experiences and if your too ashamed to talk about that kind of stuff then you won't know what you are doing. Like I said before Couples who wait are actually more likely to get pregnant before they want to.

uh, oh course people who wait till marraige have a higher pregnancy rate, cause they want kids. of course are you talking about unwanted pregancies? im not gonna say wether or not i think they're a good idea, but if so, abstinance should be taught. what ive heard is that most classes are 'well, if you wanna abstain, good for you, but you should really have sex'. not 'its the best idea to abstain, and this is what you should know for after you get married'.

ok im done, and i know it prob didnt come out the way i wanted it to, but its late. and im leaving this convo.

Yeah people are going to have sex so you might as well give them the knowledge on how to do it without getting an STD or getting pregnant.

And yes other guy I was talking about unwanted pregnancies. Also I thought it was interesting that on average the people who do those pledges to abstain last only 18 months before they have sex.
