Ron paul's presidential hopes exist nowhere except in the minds of his supporters.

and what's more is contrary to any argument they make, the American people very clearly don't want him to be president. That's why he's got 52 delegates vs 666 for romney.

He hasn't won a single state and yet they anticipate him winning the majority of the country come november.

People like you (and they're unfortunately the majority) are why representative democracy blows, and ultimately doesn't work.
It is your civic duty to vote for who you see fit to be the best candidate. Their chances of winning should NOT have any affect on who you vote for. I can guarantee that Paul will lose a lot of votes to idiots like you; "oh, well, Obama will win anyway, so what's it matter?" with that attitude, we're all gonna die someday, so why not commit mass, worldwide suicide? It's such a defeatist attitude.
Yeah, Paul has a hell of a fight against him, and it's mainly been the fault of the media and the corporatist GOP thugs. I'd rather have Obama than Romney, so if my Paul vote leads to Obama winning, well, whatever. It'll just be more of the same bullshit, that might lead to the collapse of industrial technology faster. Both choices bring more of the same bullshit: Obama and Romney are both paid, corporate-owned enforcers of the status quo. In these turbulent times, we're left with few options. We can go on the same path and pray for collapse, we can incite violent action against the ruling elites, or we can vote Paul and hope he can turn things around. Because the first two options aren't ideal, I'd at least give the last a try. I'm not about to sit around and let your "two choices" (which are both the same except for a select few media-hyped, uber polarized issues) ruin my country with their corporate agendas. Isn't it worth a try?
And for fucks sake, talking about "throwing your vote away", I can't think of a worse allocation for a vote than voting for one of those two boneheads: Romney and Obama.

The fact is, the people still vote however they want. Yes, certain candidates have advantages due to funding/donations and what have you, but in the end, if the majority of American citizens wanted ron paul as president, they would vote for him. They have not however done that, and therefore we can very safely say that the United States does not want ron paul as it's president.


And i know, you're probably going to respond by saying the majority of americans are sheep, and blindly follow mainstream media, etc etc, and i'll once again reiterate that i don't give a shit, because in the end, ron paul is not, nor will he ever be the president or even come close to holding that office.

unfortunately, no it's not the only place it counts. There's no medal for 2nd place, and even though you can say they tried their best, they still lost.

plus there are elections where even opposition supporters will freely admit that the other candidate has an excellent chance of winning. However literally no one but ron paul supporters think he has any chance. You don't hear obama or romney talking about him simply because he's totally irrelevant and a non-threat to either of them.


I see where you're coming from though. And i, like yourself, am not back any specific candidate. I'm just sick of hearing about how wonderful ron paul is and how the only reason he hasn't won every state unanimously is due to corporations.

While I won't say so blindly that "americans are sheep", there is overwhelming evidence that advertising WORKS. I could certainly cite a great deal of highly credible sources backing this up, but it's likely not worth the time, because as you stated in your post "[you] don't give a shit." So, certainly, if you're going to "not give a shit" about relevant, factual information, then yes, you can, without a doubt, create a fantasy world all your own! It must be fun.
The fact is: Romney's superPAC is getting massive amounts of money (the majority being from, yes, corporations with an agenda of PROFIT) that largely goes to advertising in some manifestation. This advertising, being devilishly effective in gaining votes, is one of the key factors in his success. Why would these EVIL, EVVVVIL corporations want Romney instead of Paul? Because Paul would make it very hard for them to maintain their current business practices, and he'd bring back small business to America. You wouldn't want THAT, would you!?!?
Additionally, SuperPAC's aren't everything in this race. The media has blacked Paul out completely, deeming him "unelectable" and sometimes flatly lying about him. This has proven devastating for Paul's campaign.

I understand he won't win. I don't even think he got close, as your post seemed to imply. However, one of the key reasons as to why he'll be losing is because of the collective, bought-and-paid-for mindset that he won't win.
I could easily level this discussion up to a critique of representative democracy in all its grossly inefficient, borderline-tyrannical glory, however I'll spare you, because it's likely "you don't give a shit."

its not that i don't give a shit about policies/what they each are fighting for, i more just meant that I don't much care for having this discussion on ns as it's been discussed at least 100 times, and every discussion ends the same way. Woozy comes in, posts some graphs and interviews from 1940, and everyone ends up pissed off.

Just because Paul is the underdog still doesn't mean he's a good candidate. Sure, he's consistent, but he also doesn't believe in evolution, thinks Creationism is a valid option for public school curricula, and would put what should be instantiated and perpetual civil rights to a state's vote.
