Ok i sat down and watched Degenerates and then Propaganda in one sitting today and I have to say those three guys go WAAAAAAY bigger in the half pipe back in the days of Degenerates than they do today. Like 4 or 5 times bigger! They dont do cool tricks like flatspins or 3s but they still go huge. its kind of fun to watch. JF and Vinnie do some airs that have to be 20 ft or more out of the pipe, its sick

Yeah but that is before the time of the super pipes popularity growth that occures like last year.
So they are busting like 15 feet on a 9-12 ft wall, but now they get around 11-12 feet (on average) like a 20 foot wall. So the pipe is bigger, and it makes the people look smaller.
I think thats how it goes now...

Yea 11-15 feet out of the pipe isnt shabby either. The pipe has grown into a super pipe an they need more speed to get up to 20 ft out

what is the point of having it be a super pipe if they just need more speed to get out!? seem kinda pointless, I guess all I have ridden is super pipes though, so i wouldnt know how much speed I would need for a regular pipe.

Back in those days they hit jumps just as big as the ones they hit today. They did big 3 grabs and stuff too. and that was before JP messed up his back and knees.

JP and Vinnie are my two most favorite skiers...they did alot for progression if you ask me, and they dont get half the credit they deserve these days. Especially JP, with the injury and all. I dunno though, pipes vs. superpipes...its all about style and progression...not necessarily who goes the hugest..just my view though.
If I had a nickel,
I'd surely give it to you right away.
